(Also known as Hengguan Yinei Cataract)
When this eye disease first manifests, it typically affects one eye initially. The etiology is attributed to deficiency and exhaustion of the Five Zang Organs (Five Viscera), with Wind-Toxin rushing upward, causing brain lipid fluid to flow downward, resulting in blindness while still retaining the ability to distinguish the Three Lights (sun, moon, and stars). It is appropriate to use a gold needle for cataract extraction (phacodonesis). It is also appropriate to administer Huanjing Wan (Restore Vision Pill) and Qibao San (Seven Treasures Powder), upon which the condition will heal.
The poem states:
Although Hengguan Yinei is rare, practitioners must master its principles.
Carefully observe the opacity resembling a sword ridge across the pupil; the upper and lower edges are slightly white.
During surgery, begin by拨 (dislocating/pushing) from the center; the operation should proceed smoothly as if dispersing fog.
How to cultivate medical skills? Follow the vows and methods of Nagarjuna throughout life.
Huanjing Wan (Restore Vision Pill)

Qibao San (Seven Treasures Powder)

Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Take 1 qian of the powder with 1 cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.5 cup. Strain and take warm after meals.
(Yanyue Yinei Cataract / Crescent Moon Cataract)
When this eye disease first manifests, symptoms are limited to dizziness and pain in the frontal angle bones. This is also due to exhaustion of the Liver and Kidney, with Brain-Wind accumulating heat, causing an opacity in the eye resembling a crescent moon. It is appropriate to use a gold needle for cataract extraction. Subsequently, it is appropriate to administer Tongming San (Illuminate Brightness Powder) and Zhuibi Wan (Fall Opacity Pill), which will yield immediate effects.
The poem states:
A type of brain lipid coagulates in the head; why is it specifically named "Crescent Moon"?
One half is dense, the other thin; if physicians do not understand, doubt arises.
To know the ingenious medical method: first dislocate the dense part.
Take pills and powders including Huanjing Wan; firm and secure, achieving peace for a hundred years.
