(Here referring to the crown of the head) it belongs to the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Channel (The *Ling Shu* states: The Foot-Taiyang channel originates at the inner canthus, ascends over the forehead, and intersects at the vertex. The *Su Wen* states: When the three Yang channels arrive simultaneously, it is like wind and rain; ascending, it causes diseases of the vertex, descending, it causes leakage diseases. It also states: The three Yang channels are the most abundant Yang qi. Because the Foot-Taiyang channel ascends to intersect at the vertex and descends to connect with the bladder, hence upper vertex diseases and lower leakage diseases occur. Furthermore, all Hand and Foot Three-Yang channels travel on the head. Yang qi tends to ascend, leading to excess above and deficiency below. Deficiency below results in lack of consolidation. Yang Shangshan stated: Leakage disease refers to bladder leakage, meaning frequent urination and defecation without control. Zhang Jiegu stated: Vertex pain cannot be eradicated without using herbs of this primary channel; these are herbs for the Foot-Taiyang primary channel). It also belongs to the intersection of the Foot-Jueyin Liver Channel and the Du Mai (Governing Vessel). The *Ling Shu* states: The Foot-Jueyin channel connects with the eye system, ascends out of the forehead, and meets the Du Mai at the vertex. It also states: Ying Qi ascends to the forehead, follows the vertex, descends to the nape, and follows the spine into the interior; this is the Du Mai. The *Su Wen* states: The Du Mai and Taiyang channel originate at the inner canthus, ascend over the forehead, and intersect at the vertex. It also states: If the Spring pulse is excessive, it causes irritability, sudden dizziness and vertigo, and vertex diseases. Wang Haizang stated: Ju Yang (Taiyang) travels from head to foot; only the Jueyin and Du Mai meet at the vertex, traveling upward against the normal flow. The Qi of all Yang channels fails to descend, thus causing vertex pain. Qian Yi’s Xie Qing Wan (Drain Green Pill) uses Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) because its qi is vigorous and enters the Taiyang channel. Xie Qing is a formula for treating Foot-Taiyang and Jueyin channel diseases. Note: Spring pulse refers to the Liver pulse. Ju Yang refers to the Taiyang channel). It also belongs to the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao (Triple Burner) Channel and Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel. The *Ling Shu* states: The Zheng branch of the Hand-Shaoyang points upward, diverges at the vertex, enters the supraclavicular fossa, descends to the Sanjiao, and disperses in the chest. It also states: The straight branch of the Foot-Shaoyang sinew follows behind the ear, ascends to the frontal angle, and intersects at the vertex). It also belongs to the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Channel. The *Su Wen* states: Headache and vertex diseases are due to deficiency below and excess above, with the pathology lying in the Foot-Shaoyin channel; if the Taiyang channel disease is severe, it transmits into the Kidney. Shen Chengzhi stated: The Lung governs exhalation, and the Kidney governs inhalation. The Foot-Taiyang Bladder is the exterior mansion of the Kidney. When the Kidney is deficient, it cannot grasp Qi and return it to its origin; instead, following the Foot-Taiyang channel, it counterflows upward, entering the forehead and intersecting at the vertex, thus causing headache).
