Due to the invasion of cold pathogen into the vagina during menstruation, lodging in the uterine gate (Bao Men), causing the congealing of essence and blood, cessation of menstrual periods, and gradual abdominal enlargement resembling pregnancy.
In robust women, after half a year, with the increase of urination, the swelling will subside; however, in those with deficiency and frailty, edema disease will inevitably develop. Warming the Meridian Decoction (Wen Jing Tang) is the primary treatment.

During menstruation, if cold pathogen enters from the anus and lodges in the Large Intestine, it causes stagnation and sluggishness of menstrual blood. Although menstruation occurs, the flow is scanty, and the abdomen gradually enlarges like pregnancy, presenting symptoms similar to fetal leakage (Tai Lou).
In robust women, after half a year, with normal bowel movements and increased urination, the swelling subsides, and the condition resolves due to strong Qi; in those with deficiency and frailty, distension disease will inevitably develop. Cinnamon Twig and Peach Kernel Decoction (Gui Zhi Tao Ren Tang) is the primary treatment.

The disease of metrorrhagia (Beng Zhong) in women is caused by deficiency of Middle Qi, which fails to control the blood, compounded by accumulated heat inside forcing blood to move recklessly, resulting in sudden profuse vaginal bleeding known as metrorrhagia.
If metrorrhagia persists for a long time, it evolves into leukorrhea or dripping discharge (Lou Xia). Shuhe stated in "Mai Jue": Long-standing metrorrhagia leads to leukorrhea, and frequent dripping discharge often indicates depletion of Kidney Yin (Kidney Water). There are three treatment methods: first, stop bleeding; second, clear heat; third, tonify deficiency. None will fail to recover.
For any case of bloody metrorrhagia, use Trogopterus Dung (Wu Ling Zhi), half raw and half stir-fried, taken with wine. It can invigorate blood and stop bleeding, treating blood stasis pain. It is remarkably effective. Wu Ling Zhi not only treats blood disorders but also wind disorders, truly being a miraculous herb for treating metrorrhagia.
Stopping bleeding initially is treating the branch in acute conditions. Use Si Wu Tang to harmonize Shi Hui San to stop bleeding, ceasing when the bleeding stops.

When the Chong and Ren meridians are deficient in women, and wind pathogen damages Ying Blood, leading to metrorrhagia: Wind is dynamic, and bloody metrorrhagia is caused by wind movement, so wind-dispelling herbs must be used.
Next, clear heat. Once bleeding has stopped, it is appropriate to take heat-clearing agents. Cool Blood and Rehmannia Pill (Liang Xue Di Huang Wan) is the primary treatment.
