When children suffer from eye nebula (corneal opacity), one should not lightly use eye drops; the primary treatment should be internal medication to resolve the nebula internally. One must observe the distribution of red veins (ocular hyperemia) up, down, inside, and outside, and treat according to the affected meridians. This has been detailed in Volume 7 of *Miscellaneous Diseases* and the general discussion by Master Xue previously, so it is not repeated here.

[Xue Ji] A fourteen-year-old girl, due to anger, first experienced amenorrhea, alternating chills and fever, and hypochondriac pain. Subsequently, greenish nebulae appeared in both eyes, developing from the outside inward. I reasoned that alternating chills and fever with hypochondriac pain are syndromes of the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian; nebulae arising from the outside are syndromes of the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian. Her left Guan pulse was wiry and rapid, and rough upon heavy pressure, indicating wind-heat in the Liver meridian accompanied by blood stasis. Thus, I prescribed Jiawei Xiaoyao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) added with Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root) and Longdancao (Gentian Root). After four doses, the alternating chills, fever, and hypochondriac pain decreased abruptly. She then used Liuwei Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) for over a month, and the nebula resolved.

A fifteen-year-old boy presented with white nebulae in both eyes, skin lesions on the abdomen, diaphragm, and whole body resembling but not being scabies, afternoon tidal fever, dry mouth, and emaciation. This is a syndrome of Liver Gan (hepatic deficiency accumulation). He was cured using Liuwei Fei'er Wan (Six-Ingredient Stomach-Nourishing Pill). Later, his penis became itchy, urine was clear and white, and the sores worsened, resembling Da Feng disease (leprosy-like condition). He used Da Lushen Siwei Fei'er Wan (Large Aloe Four-Ingredient Stomach-Nourishing Pill), and all symptoms gradually improved. He was then cured using Da Wuyi Tang (Large Chromolaena Decoction).

A nine-year-old boy had chronic Liver fire and eye nebulae, which healed promptly after taking Lushen Wan (Aloe Pill) and Fei'er Wan (Stomach-Nourishing Pill). After age fourteen, due to excessive mental exertion and irregular diet, he suffered from night blindness. He was cured using Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction), Renshen Weiyang Tang (Ginseng Stomach-Reinforcing Decoction), and Siwei Fei'er Wan (Four-Ingredient Stomach-Nourishing Pill).

Another child frequently developed eye nebulae, caused by the wet nurse's anger. The mother and child took Jiwei Lushen Wan (Nine-Ingredient Aloe Pill) and Chaihu Zhizi San (Bupleurum and Gardenia Powder) together, resulting in a cure.

Another child, due to irregular breastfeeding and overdose of medication, developed abdominal distension, poor appetite, and irregular bowel movements. His vision blurred ("seeing flowers"), and after taking eye medications, a floating nebula (superficial opacity) gradually formed. I used Yigong San (Extraordinary Efficacy Powder) added with Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) and Chaihu (Bupleurum). As his diet gradually improved and bowel movements normalized, I slightly supplemented with Jiwei Lushen Wan, and his vision gradually cleared. Finally, he was cured using Renshen Weiyang Tang and Fei'er Wan.

A twelve-year-old boy suffered from cold damage with cough and fever. After taking dispersing drugs, his vision gradually dimmed. After taking fire-descending drugs, his diet decreased daily, and eye nebulae gradually formed. I diagnosed this as deficiency of Middle Qi. Using Renshen Weiyang Tang, his diet gradually improved. He was then treated with Qianjin Bugan Wan (Thousand Gold Liver-Tonifying Pill) and fumigation therapy, resulting in a cure.

A twelve-year-old girl presented with white nebulae, sallow and puffy face, dry mouth, and diarrhea. She was cured using Siwei Fei'er Wan (Four-Ingredient Stomach-Nourishing Pill).

For Faxian Yi (depressed nebula), formulas similar to Lingyangjiao San are used, adjusted according to circumstances. For those with Yin deficiency and heat, Shenxian Tuiyun Wan (Immortal Cloud-Removing Pill) can be taken concurrently.

[Li Dongyuan] Buyang Tang (Tonify Yang Decoction) treats conditions where Yang cannot overcome Yin, leading to Yin excess and Yang deficiency, causing blockage of the nine orifices. This results in blue-white nebulae appearing at the outer canthus. It occurs because the Yang qi of the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian is constrained within the Foot Taiyang Bladder and Foot Shaoyin Kidney meridians, preventing it from ascending to the eyes, thus causing internal obstruction by blue nebulae. One must tonify the Liver's Yang qi within the Taiyang and Shaoyin meridians (as if in the depths of the earth), allowing it to surge upward. This follows the principle of first tonifying Yang, then draining Fire from the Foot Jueyin meridian which is hidden within Yang. *Neijing* states: "When Yin is excess and Yang is deficient, one should first tonify Yang, then drain Yin." Take Shengyang Tang (Raise Yang Decoction) on an empty stomach daily, and Xiayin Wan (Drain Yin Pill) before bed. One must regulate the body's Qi to achieve balance beforehand, and take it on sunny days to tonify Yang, allowing it to ascend to the extremities of the Liver meridian, clearing the orifices of the eyes.
