Croton tiglium L. seed: Take an unspecified amount of Croton tiglium L. seed, press it onto paper to extract the oil, roll the paper into a wick, ignite it, then blow it out. Use the smoke to fumigate the nasal cavity until clear mucus flows out, which will naturally relax the jaw lock.
Castor bean kernel (2 grains) Croton tiglium L. seed meat (2 grains) Musk (a small amount)
Grind these three ingredients together, roll them in paper, ignite, and inhale the smoke through the nose. The jaw lock will open immediately. This is a sacred medicine for treating laryngeal closure with inability to open the mouth. [Comment by E: These prescriptions can inspire countless methods for applying external treatments to internal diseases in later generations. For instance, in cases of warm-heat diseases or phlegm-heat obstructing the heart orifices, one can also use vinegar-charcoal, or paper rolls soaked in musk and sesame oil, burn them to produce smoke for fumigation, which can also achieve opening effects.]
Originally named Tianyi San.
