Pulmonary abscess (Fei Yong) has persisted for one year, with coughing up of pus and blood, fever, and rapid pulse. The condition is progressing towards consumptive disease (Sun Men), requiring nourishment of Yin and clearing of phlegm-heat.

After the pulmonary abscess presents with coughing up of pus and blood, there is incessant choking cough at night, chills in the evening, cold limbs, and body pain. This indicates deficiency of Ying and Wei Qi in the Lung and Stomach, and failure of Liver Yang to descend.
Treatment should nourish the Lung and Stomach, while simultaneously softening the Liver.

External contraction of wind and yang, combined with internal accumulation of phlegm-heat in the Lung and Stomach, causes cough, fever, and pain in the chest and hypochondrium. There is a risk of developing pulmonary abscess; urgent treatment requires clearing and descending.

Accumulation of phlegm and qi in the Liver and Lung leads to cough, fever, fishy-smelling sputum, and hypochondriac pain, with a risk of pulmonary abscess. Treatment should focus on clearing and descending.

Sorrow damages the Middle Jiao, causing qi stagnation and blood coagulation. A hard, painful mass forms above the umbilicus and below the epigastrium, constituting "Manxin Tan" (a type of accumulation). With alternating chills and fever, yellow diarrhea, wiry pulse, and concurrent summerheat pathogen, this is no minor ailment. Tentatively prescribe methods to promote circulation of qi and blood, dissipate nodules, and resolve phlegm.

Injury due to overexertion, compounded by worry and thought, leads to nodules on both sides of the neck, manifesting as "Madao" (scrofula). The masses are hard and swollen like stone, with pain radiating to the head. The pulse is fine and soft, indicating dual deficiency of qi and blood, with diminishing vital energy. It is extremely difficult to treat. Tentatively prescribe nourishing Ying and supporting Spleen Earth to transform hard accumulations.

Second visit: Add Ostrea Concha (Muli) to the original prescription.
Blood deficiency with Liver fire, combined with phlegm condensation, results in Madao tubercles on the right side of the neck. The swelling is hard like stone, accompanied by fever and a fine pulse. The condition is severe; harmonizing Ying and resolving phlegm is appropriate, expecting gradual effect.

The pulse is wiry; the right side is slippery, and the left Guan position is forceful. This indicates deficiency of Ying Yin, internal movement of Qi and Fire in the Jueyin meridian, ascending phlegm condensing in the Shaoyang region. Madao tubercles appear on the right side of the neck, hard and swollen. Treatment and regulation are difficult; prescribe nourishing Ying, clearing Liver, and transforming hardness.

Second visit: Add Cremanthodii Herba (Shancigu).
Liver Qi stagnation has slightly eased, and the Madao nodule has become slightly softer. Continue with previous treatment method.

Anger injures the Liver, excessive thinking injures the Spleen, leading to phlegm-qi stagnation. Madao appears on the right side of the neck, hard and swollen, with half-head radiating pain. The condition is serious. Nourish Ying, clear Liver, and resolve phlegm. Crucially, avoid worldly emotions, anger, and fatigue.

Madao belongs to the Surgery department. Continuous administration of formulas to relieve depression and clear the Liver is essential. Headache has subsided, eyes can open and see, indicating potential improvement. However, slight chills and fever occur in the afternoon, and the phlegm nodule remains hard and swollen. Liver Qi stagnation is not fully resolved. Prescribe Xiaoyao San combined with Huajian Tang.

Liver Qi combined with phlegm condenses in the left axilla, accompanied by Yi and Madao. Swelling extends to the breast, with heat and pain, risking rupture which would be difficult to heal. Clear Liver and resolve phlegm.

Second visit: Add Sargassum (Haizao), Qingpi, and Juye.
Shaoyang Ministerial Fire combined with ascending phlegm causes hard swelling of Madao on the right side of the neck. Mistaken application of acupuncture and cupping worsened the swelling, causing unceasing radiating pain and dizziness upon bleeding. The condition is considered untreatable; tentatively prescribe a formula.
