Lower back pain is often mistakenly attributed to kidney disease, but it is actually caused by dampness in the spleen. Patients may feel as if a heavy weight is tied around their waist. The treatment should focus on removing dampness from the lower back and umbilical region, after which the pain will naturally subside. Use 2 liang of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) and 1.5 qian of Coicis Semen (Yiyiren), add three bowls of water, decoct until one bowl remains, and drink it all at once. The symptoms will disappear after a single dose; typically, two doses are sufficient for a course of treatment. Although this formula does not directly target the kidneys, it effectively treats them by addressing the root cause in the spleen.
Use 1 qian each of Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudi), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi), Dendrobii Caulis (Shihu), and Poria (Fuling); 0.5 qian each of Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Papaveris Fructus (Mugua), Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), and Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (Duhuo); 0.3 qian each of Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Muxiang) and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata (Zhigancao); along with one slice of Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Jiang). Decoct in water, mix with yellow wine, and take orally. This is effective even for chronic cases lasting many years.
Another prescription: Take one teacup of Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu), grind into powder, mix evenly with one cup of yellow wine, stir-fry until hot, spread on oil paper, apply to the affected area, and bind tightly with cloth. Pain will cease immediately. If the application cools, reheat and reapply.
For conditions involving extreme deficiency of qi and blood leading to hair loss, withered teeth, runny nose, somnolence, excessive phlegm and saliva, lower spine pain, and inability to walk:
Take 4 liang of Cervi Cornu (Lujiao), cut into shavings, stir-fry until yellow, and grind into powder. Take 2 qian with wine. Adding Niuxiu to make pills yields better results. Alternatively, use Qizhi Guzhi Wan (see *Neiwai Beiyong Zhufang*) to eradicate the root cause.
Use 1 qian each of Danggui, Carthami Flos (Honghua), and Niuxi; 0.5 qian of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix (Weilingxian); and seven raw Peach Kernels (Taoren). Add one bowl of water, decoct, then add one bowl of yellow vinegar. Take orally for immediate recovery.
Another prescription: Burn the root of Luffa Viminalis (Sigua Gen, also known as Shuigua or Xiangua) to ash while preserving its medicinal properties. Take 2 qian per dose with wine. Effective even for unbearable pain.
Another prescription: Burn the shell of Canavalia Gladiata (Daodou Qiao) to ash, mix with wine, and take orally. Highly effective and miraculous.

During sexual intercourse, death may occur due to exhaustion of essence from excessive pleasure. One must not panic or get out of bed. If the male exhausts his essence, the female should blow warm air into his mouth; if the female exhausts her essence, the male should do the same. Continue blowing dozens of times until yang qi gradually returns. Then administer Renshen Fuzi Tang (Ginseng and Aconite Decoction). (The method of sending breath requires closing the mouth, raising qi from the dantian to the mouth, and blowing forcefully into the other person's mouth towards the throat, which can save a life on the verge of death in an instant). If ginseng is unaffordable, urgently use 4 liang of Astragali Radix (Huangqi), 2 liang of Danggui, and 0.5 liang of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi), decoct in water and take orally; survival is possible.
Another prescription: Have someone hold the patient in a sitting position. Blow air into the patient's mouth. To ensure the air reaches the throat, insert a pen tube through both ends into the patient's throat and have a woman blow into the other end. It need not be the wife's relative; any woman can attempt this. Even if the patient appears dead, they may be revived.
