上羽还同正征议。大征更见征司天。收气必晚难齐至。太商若更遇上征。便与正商无少异。
运或本羽见上羽。长气不化乖常度。唯大宫年本气专。更无他候夺其权。纵逢上羽及上征。

Months of Wu, Wei, You, Xu, Hai, and Yin: Zheng-hua (Orthodox Transformation) follows the Ben (Root), and its number is the Sheng-number (Generating Number). Months of Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Si, and Shen: Dui-hua (Counterpart Transformation) follows the Biao (Mark), and its number is the Cheng-number (Completing Number). Zheng-hua makes Qi substantial, so there is no Fu-qi (Rebound Qi); Dui-hua makes Qi deficient, so Sheng-Fu (Victory and Repression) qi moves. Yun (Movement) follows the Cheng-number because of Shao (Less); the Sheng-number arises from Tai (Greater) and Ping (Balanced).
The first Qi begins at Da Han (Great Cold) without change. The second Qi begins three days before Qing Ming (Clear Brightness). The third Qi begins five days before Xia Zhi (Summer Solstice). The fourth Qi begins seven days after Chu Shu (Limit of Heat). The fifth Qi begins five days after Li Dong (Start of Winter).
Each cycle completes 72 Hou (5-day periods). The Zhu-yun (Main Movement) consists of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. The Yun starts with one movement and cycles round. Yang years start with Tai-jue (Great Jue), Yin years start with Shao-jue (Less Jue). Tai and Shao sounds rise alternately. Jue, Zhi, Gong, Shang, Yu are arranged in turn. Every year, it feels like an endless rotation. To deduce the Ke-qi (Adventitious Qi), who to ask? The Yun of that year is the initial Yun. The five tones and earthly branches follow Yin and Yang according to their size. Yun generates Yun, as discussed in the previous theory.
In years of Five Tai (Five Greats), although the records differ, the Si-tian (Heavenly Ruler) only has Yu and Zhi. Tai-jue Yun is the same as Upper Shang. When Upper Zhi meets, Qi rushes counter-currently. In years of Wu Fire, it is a Tai-Zhi year. Upper Yu is still discussed similarly to Zheng-Zhi. If Great Zhi appears with Zhi as Si-tian, the Harvest Qi will surely be late and difficult to arrive on time. If Tai-Shang meets Upper Zhi, it is no different from Zheng-Shang. If Yun originally Yu sees Upper Yu, the Long Qi does not transform, violating normal measures. Only in Da-Gong years is the Ben-qi (Root Qi) exclusive. No other Hou can seize its power. Even if meeting Upper Yu and Upper Zhi, ultimately the Earth transformation cannot be diminished or increased; it remains prosperous.
In years of Five Shao (Five Lessees), they follow Gui-hua (Ghost Transformation). The Si-tian only has Jue, Shang, and Gong. If encountering mutual overcoming or harmonizing, further follow the Heavenly Tone and align with the Zheng (Standard).
Xin is one, Ding is three, Ji is five in the middle. Yi is seven, Gui is nine; these are Zai-gong (Disaster Palaces). Victory follows each division of Time and Position. Who knows that the Five Zang-organs correspond to the Gong?
The depression of Earth and Fire erupts in the fourth season. The eruption of Metal in the fifth season is a common matter. The eruption of Wood depression has no fixed expectation. The eruption of Water and Fire arrives sequentially. The amount of Qi varies, leading to minor or major eruptions. Minor eruptions are supported below, responding like Qi. Major eruptions differ by more than thirty degrees. If Qi has not yet departed, it violates normal orders. When Yun is Taiguo (Excessive), its arrival is early. When Yun is Buji (Deficient), its arrival is late. It should be reversed: late becomes early, early becomes late. Erupting out of due time is a disaster omen. Wood reaches, Fire erupts, Earth snatches. Metal leaks, Water restricts and controls. Observe the deficiency and excess and regulate them. For those in excess, restrain them with what they fear. Salty drains Kidney, Sour drains Liver. Sweet drains Spleen, Pungent drains Lung. Bitter drains Heart, this has been the same since ancient times. Adventitious victory causes no harm, borrow its Qi.
