Commentary states: Qi within the human body expands and flows smoothly when warmed, but becomes stagnant and obstructed when exposed to cold. The Lung governs Qi; if injured by Cold pathogenic factors, Qi flow becomes stagnant and blocked. Consequently, Qi rebels and moves upward, manifesting as cough. If Lung Qi is deficient, respiration fails to fully return (inhalation difficulty), hence termed "Ke Ni Duan Qi" (Rebellious Cough with Shortness of Breath).
