上为末，蜜丸鸡头子大。薄荷汤下，大小加减。
长沙医者丁时发传胜金丸 解小儿一切风热，诸般热症等。惊风涎盛，搐搦不定，如服此药，必吐涎或泻出涎，
药之功也。
郁金（皂角煮，焙） 雄黄 白矾 朴硝（各一钱） 巴豆（七粒，出油） 轻粉 大黄（各半钱）
上为末，面糊为丸粟米大。每服五、七粒，金银薄荷汤下。
Using two and a half taels of Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), cracked, soaked in two bowls of water overnight, simmered over slow fire until half a bowl remains, filtered to remove dregs; then Tian Nan Xing powder is added gradually, ground slowly, until the Gancao water is fully absorbed, then other remaining herbs are added. The formula from *Kong Shi Jia Chuan* is the same, said to add half a fen of Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis), which is Sun Zhao's formula.
Zhang Huan treats pediatric wind-heat syndrome with Baihe Tang (Lily Bulb Decoction):
Baihe (Bulbus Lilii), Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae Preparated), Zi Wan (Herba Asteris Tatarici washed and dried), Renshen (Radix Ginseng, rhizome removed, each one liang), Baifuling (Poria), Qing Ju Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), Maimendong (Tuber Ophiopogonis, nodes and heart removed), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparated, each half liang).
Crush the above ingredients and sieve into fine powder. Take one qian per dose, with eight fen of water in one cup, add three leaves of Zhuye (Folium Bambusae) and two leaves of Bohe (Herba Menthae), decoct until five fen remain, filter and take warm.
*Tong Ying Bao Jian* treats pediatric wind-heat, body feeling like boiling fire, night crying. Lv Xia San (Green Mist Powder):
Bai Ye (Cacumen Platycladi, two fen), Tian Nan Xing (Rhizoma Arisaematis Preparated), Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus), Quan Xie (Scorpio), Yujin (Radix Curcumae, all powdered, each one fen), Xiong Huang (Realgar, powdered, one qian).
Grind all ingredients evenly. Take one zi dose with Bohe honey water, can increase to half a qian.
*Liang Fang* treats pediatric wind-heat, cold damage and seasonal epidemic diseases, fever from sores and rashes. Jiegeng San (Platycodon Powder):
Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis), Xixin (Radix Asari), Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae), Gualougen (Radix Trichosanthis), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparated), Baifuling (Poria), Xiong (Radix Chuanxiong).
Sieve into equal parts powder. Take two qian per dose, with one cup of water, two leaves of Bohe (Herba Menthae), decoct together until seven fen remain. Children under three years old divide into four or five doses; children over five years old divide into two doses. My family often makes this medicine. For any pediatric fever, whether from wind-cold or wind-heat, taking this powder first often leads to recovery. Taking Xiaohei Gao (Black Ointment) concurrently is even better (formula see Cold Damage section). This Jiegeng San is the same as the formula in *Huo Ren Shu*, named Xingxing San (Awakening Powder). (*Kong Shi Jia Chuan* says: Adding Gouteng (Ramulus Uncariae cum Uncis) and Chantui (Periostracum Cicadae) to Xingxing San for children is excellent, it resolves upper congestion of wind-heat.)
*Huo Ren Shu* Lianqiao Yin (Forsythia Drink) treats all pediatric wind-heat syndromes.
Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), Shanzhizi (Fructus Gardeniae).
Equal parts of the above, crush and sieve into powder. Take two qian per dose, with one medium cup of water, decoct until seven fen remain.
*Jiu Wei Sheng* Niuzangzi San (Arctium Powder) treats pediatric cold damage, macules and papules, toxic qi, difficulty in throat and diaphragm, loss of voice, pain.
Niuzangzi (Fructus Arctii, stir-fried), Tianshen (Radix Codonopsis), Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), Gan Bohe (Herba Menthae Dry, equal parts).
Make into coarse powder. Take one qian per dose, with seven fen of water, decoct until four fen remain, filter and take warm at any time.
*Wan Quan Fang* treats pediatric wind-heat, vexation and stuffiness in chest and heart. Niu Huang San (Calculus Bovis Powder):
Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis, finely ground and added), Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas, ground, each one fen), Yujin (Radix Curcumae, powdered, half liang), Renshen (Radix Ginseng, one qian, powdered).
Grind all ingredients evenly. Take half a qian per dose, mix with Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae) decoction, three to four times daily.
*Ju Bao Fang* Niu Huang Wan (Calculus Bovis Pill) treats all wind-heat syndromes, transforms phlegm-fluids, stops headache, resolves gu poison.
Huang Niu Dan (Bovis Vesica Bile, collected in December, mixed with Tian Nan Xing powder, filled into gallbladder bag, flattened and hung in ventilated place for one hundred days), Shuiku Xionghuang (Realgar, water-floating method, one fen per one liang of decoction), Zhen Shexiang (Moschus, ground, stir-fried, one qian).
Powder the above three ingredients, use glutinous rice cooked thin paste as binder, make pills the size of soap pods. Take one pill per dose. For headache, chew one pill with Jinyin Bohe (Lonicerae Japonicae and Menthae) decoction; for summerheat toxicity, chew with Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) honey water; for Chanhou Feng (Wind wrapping the throat), dissolve with fresh juice of Shengjiang and Bohe; for pediatric wind-heat, dissolve with Maimendong (Tuber Ophiopogonis) prepared water; for resolving gu poison, dissolve five pills with Han HT wash decoction; for other ailments, one or two pills. If phlegm-fluids fall, take with Shengjiang decoction; for sudden wind-stroke, take with Doulin Jiu (Bean-leavened Wine); for wind caught during bathing, chew with warm wine.
*Ju Bao Fang* Xingxing San (Awakening Powder) treats pediatric wind-heat warmth and exterior wind-cold.
Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis), Xixin (Radix Asari, leaves removed), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Baifuling (Poria, peeled), Gualougen (Radix Trichosanthis), Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae, prepared, each one liang).
Make the above seven herbs into fine powder. Take one large qian per dose. With six fen of water and a little Bohe (Herba Menthae), decoct until four fen remain, take warm. To harmonize qi, add Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) and decoct.
*Hui Yan Guan Zheng* Niu Huang Wan (Calculus Bovis Pill) directs wind-heat downward, extracts phlegm-fluids. Usually do not use decoctions or pills, only use this medicine.
Xionghuang (Realgar, one qian), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, two qian), Quan Xie (Scorpio, seven), Qingfen (Calomelas, two boxes).
Grind together evenly, use rice drink as binder, make pills of such size ○. Take fifteen pills for children over one year old, twenty-five pills for children two to three years old. Adjust accordingly for others, take according to age and size.
*Hui Yan Guan Zheng* Wuxi Gao (Black Rhinoceros Horn Ointment) resolves wind-heat, opens chest and diaphragm.
Gan Dihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), Yuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae, moist ones), Niuzangzi (Fructus Arctii, stir-fried, each half liang), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, one fen), Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, a little, ground).
Make into powder, refine honey into ointment. Take the size of a soap pod per dose, swallow with bee sugar prepared water.
*Zhang Shi Jia Chuan* Tianzhu Huang Sanzi (Bamboo Slurry Powder) treats pediatric wind-heat convulsions.
Tianzhu Huang (Bambusa Textilis Calamus), Chan Qiao (Periostracum Cicadae), Bai Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus), Shanzhizi (Fructus Gardeniae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), Yujin (Radix Curcumae).
Equal parts of the above, pound together, sieve into powder. Take one qian per dose, mix with prepared water. Three-year-old children can take half a qian, infants only take one zi.
*Zhang Shi Jia Chuan* treats all wind pathogens, calms heart and transforms phlegm-fluids, treats wind congestion and phlegm excess, headache and dizziness, palpitations and nausea, confusion and slurred speech, neck stiffness, numbness of limbs. Also treats pediatric wind-heat rising excessively, restless sleep, red cheeks and surging phlegm, conditions about to transform into convulsive epilepsy, all should take this. For any wind-phlegm, best taken regularly after meals. Da Niu Huang Wan (Great Calculus Bovis Pill):
Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis), Sheng Naohzi (Borneolum Syntheticum, each weighed half liang), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, ground, one and a half liang), Tian Nan Xing (Rhizoma Arisaematis, boiled slowly in grain water for one shichen until soft throughout, sliced and dried; if not soft, boil another half day), Wu She (Bungarus multicinctus, soaked in wine, meat taken), Bai Jiangcan (Bombyx Fatuus, stir-fried), Fei Bai Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), Renshen (Radix Ginseng, each one liang), Gan Quan Xie (Scorpio, stir-fried), Bai Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, stir-fried, each), Shuimo Xionghuang (Realgar, water-ground), Sheng Xi (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved, each three fen), Shexiang (Moschus, one fen).
Except for already ground medicines, crush the rest together, sieve into fine powder. Then add the ground medicines, mix evenly, refine honey into pills the size of chicken heads. Take one to two pills per dose, chew finely, send down with Renshen Bohe (Ginseng and Mentha) decoction; or dissolve and take. Take after meals before bed.
*Zhang Shi Jia Chuan*: Pediatric wind-heat, emaciation, heat in five centers, failure to gain muscle, sallow and emaciated face, restless sleep at night, occasional deficiency sweating; or intestinal and stomach diarrhea transforming into dysentery, difficult to take cooling medicines, can take Sishun San (Four Smooths Powder):
Yinzhou Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri from Yinzhou, rhizome removed), Zhen Digupi (Cortex Lycii), Bai Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis, each three qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, half qian).
Dry by baking and make into powder. Take one qian or half a qian per dose, adjust by size. Use three parts water, decoct until one and a half parts remain, take lukewarm.
*Zhuang Shi Jia Chuan* treats wind-heat descending phlegm formula.
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, powdered, two liang), Nin Fen (Calomelas), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, each five qian), She (Moschus, one qian).
Use five qian of white flour, drop water to make pills the size of soap pods. Take one pill per dose, dissolve with inverted flowing water.
*Zhuang Shi Jia Chuan* early spring wind-heat擁毒 (accumulated toxin), unblocks intestines and stomach formula.
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, equal parts).
Make into coarse powder. Take one tu per dose. Use one cup of water, decoct until five fen remain, give according to child's size.
*Zhuang Shi Jia Chuan* treats pediatric wind-heat. Tianzhu Huang San (Bamboo Slurry Powder):
Tianzhu Huang (Bambusa Textilis Calamus), Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, slightly roasted, each one liang), Yujin (Radix Curcumae, two liang, wrapped in wet paper and baked), Bai Yaozi (Radix Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae, two liang, pounded with large Zaojiao (Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis) three times, soaked for three nights, dried).
Crush all ingredients together, sieve into powder. Take one qian or half a qian per dose, mix with warm honey water, regular use is very good. This medicine was transmitted by Zhang Shiming, Dianzhong Cheng of Nanhai County, Guangzhou.
*Zhao Shi Jia Chuan* Qingzhi San (Blue Mushroom Powder) resolves wind transforming into heat, cools and benefits throat, clears heart and lung meridians. Best for regular use in early spring and late winter.
Shuniuzi (Fructus Arctii, slightly stir-fried to release sweat), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), Yuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae, each two liang), Jingjie Sui (Herba Schizonepetae Spica, one liang).
Make into powder. Take one qian per dose. Use a small cup of water, decoct until seven fen remain, take warm. Especially suitable for pediatric wind-cold and wind-heat sores/rashes. Adults take three qian per dose.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* treats heart wind-heat. Dihuang Gao (Rehmannia Ointment):
Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Yujin (Radix Curcumae), Doufen (Stamen Triticipis), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, equal parts), Naoshe (Borneolum Syntheticum and Moschus, each a little).
Make into powder, use fresh Dihuang juice and refined honey to make ointment. Dissolve with Bohe (Mentha) decoction and take.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* treats wind-heat, regulates spleen and stomach. Renshen Yinzi (Ginseng Drink):
Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Fuling (Poria, boiled), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, processed), Zi Heche (Placenta Humana), Huoxiang (Herba Pogostemonis, equal parts. Adding Baifuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata) and Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae) later is especially good).
Finely chop. Take one qian per dose, decoct with water as a drink. Greatly reduces pediatric wind-heat.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* treats wind-heat with red face, whole body high fever like fire. Chantui San (Cicada Slough Powder):
Chantui (Periostracum Cicadae, three, stir-fried), Loulu (Radix Euphorbiae Humifusae), Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), Chuan Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), Shegan (Rhizoma Belamcandae), Ku Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, stir-fried), Chuanxiong (Radix Chuanxiong), Digupi (Cortex Lycii).
Equal parts powder. Take one qian per dose, with one cup of water, decoct until four fen remain, take warm.

Equal parts, fine powder. Take one qian per dose, mix with fragrant prepared water. Bohe (Mentha) decoction is also acceptable.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* treats all wind-heat. Longnao San (Borneol Powder):
Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum), Bohe (Herba Menthae), Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus), Chuanxiong (Radix Chuanxiong), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, stir-fried, each half liang), Xixin (Radix Asari, half qian).
Powder the above, take half a qian with rice drink, choose other decoctions based on condition at the time.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* Ganlu San (Sweet Dew Powder) treats pediatric wind-heat with excessive phlegm, scalp [issues], frequent crying and irritability.
Hanshuishi (Halloysitum Rubrum), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, each ... until red, original text missing character), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, processed, equal parts).
Make into fine powder. Take half a qian or one zi per dose, with Bohe (Mentha) decoction.
Changsha physician Ding Shifa transmits Zhenxin Wan (Heart-Calming Pill) treats pediatric heart wind-heat, dry throat, phlegm excess, restless sleep with frequent startles, red cheeks.
Zhusha (Cinnabaris, ground, water-floating), Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Fuling (Poria), Gan Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae Siccus, each one liang), Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas, half liang), Naoshe (Borneolum Syntheticum and Moschus, each a little).
Make into powder, honey pills the size of chicken heads. Take with Bohe (Mentha) decoction, adjust by size.
Changsha physician Ding Shifa transmits Shengjin Wan (Winning Gold Pill) resolves pediatric all wind-heat, various heat symptoms. Excessive phlegm-fluids in convulsions, irregular spasms. If taking this medicine, must vomit or pass phlegm-fluids, this is the efficacy of the medicine.
Yujin (Radix Curcumae, boiled with Zaojiao, dried), Xionghuang (Realgar), Baifan (Alumen), Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas, each one qian), Badou (Semen Crotonis, seven grains, oil removed), Qingfen (Calomelas), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, each half qian).
Make into powder, flour paste binder, make pills the size of millet grains. Take five to seven pills per dose, with Jinyin Bohe (Lonicerae Japonicae and Menthae) decoction.
