Certain Patient (Right): At mid-pregnancy, experiencing dysuria with pain. Recently, lower abdominal distension has worsened, with urine passing drop by drop or not at all. Qi closure and Fire stagnation may lead to strangury (urinary retention).
Jinlingzi (Corydalis Rhizome), Processed Pinellia Tuber, Amomum Fruit, Red and White Poria, Ground Agarwood, Alisma Rhizome, Yiyuan San (wrapped), Zishen Wan (taken with light salt water).
Jiao (Right): Pregnant for seven months, experiencing intermittent dysuria. The Taiyin Lung Meridian nourishes the fetus; Lung Qi fails to descend to the Bladder. Lower body pathology should be treated from the upper body.
Light Scutellaria Root, Aster Root, White Peony Root, Alisma Rhizome, Angelica Sinensis Root, Curcuma Aromatic Rhizome, Apricot Kernel.
This patient had eight pregnancies in seven years, claiming dysuria occurs every time she reaches seven months, seeking a method to terminate pregnancy. Her teacher said there is a good method: after delivery, roast wood ear mushroom, grind into powder, and take it. However, it is not guaranteed to be fully effective. (Recorded by Qingru).
Jin (Right): Pregnant for eight months, severe abdominal pain, incessant vomiting, soreness and pain in the waist as if broken. Fetal Qi descends abnormally, indicating risk of miscarriage.
Dipsacus Root, Eucommia Bark, Codonopsis Root, Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome, Angelica Sinensis Root Head, White Peony Root.
Due to severe vomiting preventing oral intake, Huilian Tang (Coptis Decoction) was used immediately, following Zhang Zhongjing’s method to unblock and descend Stomach Qi. Vomiting ceased, fetal Qi stabilized, and the body remained safe. (Recorded by Qingru).
Right: Fetal Qi has slightly stabilized. The period prone to habitual miscarriage has passed by over a month. It is necessary to tonify Qi and Blood, incorporating Qi-regulating methods, as regulating Qi is paramount for calming the fetus.
Xilu Dangshen, Wild Atractylodes Rhizome, Fried White Peony Root, Fine Scutellaria Root, Qiai Ye (Mugwort Leaf), Processed Cyperus Rhizome.
Honey-fried Rehmannia Root, Ejiao Beads, Poria with Stimulus, Amomum Fruit, Aucklandia Root.
Right: Pregnant for over two months, fatigue damaged the fetal root, causing spotting and bleeding. There is a danger of miscarriage.
Honey-fried Astragalus Root, Poria with Stimulus, Fine Scutellaria Root, Wild Ramie Root, Shangtang Codonopsis Root, Dodder Seed, Atractylodes Rhizome, White Peony Root, Ejiao, Cuttlefish Bone, Charred Cinnamon Twig, Lotus Node.
Certain Patient (Right): Menstruation stopped for three months, with monthly spotting. The blood is bright red and fresh. Qi attacks with gurgling sounds. Pulse is wiry and slippery. This indicates Disharmony in the Qi Level, leading to chaotic Blood movement, presenting as Taileu (Fetal Leakage/Spotting during pregnancy).
Prepared Rehmannia Root (4 qian), Fried Cornus Fruit (2 qian), Moutan Cortex (2 qian), Fried Chinese Yam Rhizome (3 qian), Fine Scutellaria Root (2 qian), Cyperus Rhizome (2 qian).
Poria with Stimulus (2 qian each), Amomum Fruit (7 fen), Alisma Rhizome (1.5 qian).
Certain Patient (Right): Abdominal distension and enlargement, pulsating sensation below the navel. Qi stagnation without dissemination. First regulate Qi to observe subsequent developments.
Amomum Fruit, Guang Chenpi, Perilla Stem, Fine Scutellaria Root, Earth-fried White Peony Root, Poria, Cyperus Rhizome.
Note: This condition has persisted for five or six years. The teacher stated that some cases last seven or eight years; Liuwei Dihuang Wan can be used. (Recorded by Qingru).
Sheng (Right): Over a month ago, yellow fluid was discharged. The fetal root could not be secured, leading to leakage. Recently, physical labor shook the fetal ligaments. This morning, bleeding recurred, accompanied by sore waist and abdominal fullness.
Pulse is irregularly slow and rapid. Urgently secure the fetus, incorporating Qi-regulating methods, as regulating Qi is paramount for calming the fetus.
Taishen Xu (Codonopsis Tendril, decocted separately, taken with infusion - 7 fen), Ejiao (1.5 qian), Atractylodes Rhizome (1.5 qian), Aucklandia Root (5 fen), Amomum Fruit (5 fen), Ground Perilla Stem (7 fen).
Light Scutellaria Root (1.5 qian), Cuttlefish Bone (3 qian), Eucommia Bark (3 qian), Dipsacus Root Section (3 qian), Hangzhou White Peony Root (2 qian), Lotus Peduncle (4 pieces).
Mu (Right): Menstruation stopped for over five months, with occasional spotting. Diet and daily activities are normal. Pulse is slow and slightly slippery. Signs of Taileu (Fetal Leakage). Harmonize Yin and drain Heat, incorporating Qi regulation.
Ejiao Beads (2 qian), Moutan Cortex (2 qian), Charred Sanguisorba Root (2 qian), Guang Mugwort/Aucklandia (3 fen), Charred Angelica Sinensis Root (2 qian), Fried Atractylodes Rhizome (1.5 qian).
Hangzhou White Peony Root (wine-fried, 1.5 qian), Fine Scutellaria Root (1.5 qian), Fresh Lotus Peduncle (3 pieces).
Second Visit: Spotting has stopped. Pulse is slow and slightly slippery. Daily activities are normal. This is due to Heat in the Blood failing to secure the fetus. Continue treating according to Taileu protocols.
Fine Scutellaria Root (1.5 qian), Old Perilla Stem (1.5 qian), Amomum Fruit (add later, 5 fen), Fritillaria Bulb (1.5 qian), Ejiao Beads (2 qian), Moutan Cortex (2 qian), Fine Rehmannia Root (4 qian), Charred Sanguisorba Root (2 qian), Fresh Lotus Peduncle (3 pieces), Hangzhou White Peony Root (wine-fried, 1.5 qian).
Right: Liver Qi is rampant, causing discomfort after eating for over a month. Yesterday, consuming cold melon/water caused Cold Qi to fail to circulate. Epigastric and abdominal distension became extreme. Qi flow was blocked, Water Qi became more stagnant. Complexion appeared pale. Wei Qi was obstructed, causing aversion to cold on the skin surface. Pulse is fine, deep, and wiry. Respiration is only four beats per cycle. Tongue is pale white. This is Cold Stagnation in the Qi Level, with closed Qi mechanism. During the period when the Heart and Gallbladder meridians nourish the fetus, there is deep fear of damaging the fetal root, leading to unexpected changes.
Light Evodia Fruit, Old Perilla Stem, Guang Chenpi, Poria with Peel, Guang Aucklandia, Bergamot, Amomum Fruit, Old Ginger Coat, Clove, White Cardamom Seed (two ingredients ground together and taken).
Right: Previously suffered from Phlegm-Fluids, with frequent coughing and excessive sputum, which became habitual. Now pregnant for seven months, during the period when the Lung Meridian nourishes the fetus. Cough has intensified, gradually leading to generalized edema. Qi rises and cannot settle for lying down. Turning to the left exacerbates the Qi rush. Stool is loose. Aversion to cold, head distension, and dizziness. Pulse is deep and wiry. Tongue coating is white and greasy. The disease originated from emotional distress. Liver Qi carries Phlegm-Fluids upward. Lung Qi fails to descend. Consequently, Spleen Earth loses its transformative rotation, leading to Water Qi overflowing between skin and muscles. This is named Zizhong (Pregnancy Edema), fearing further complications. Prescribe Yeshibio Tang (Yupingfeng/Yepa? Note: Text says Yuebi Tang) to vent Dampness from Spleen Earth, incorporating Phlegm-resolving and Qi-descending methods.
Honey-fried Ephedra Herb (4 fen), Raw Licorice Root (3 fen), Processed Pinellia Tuber (1.5 qian), Poria Peel (3 qian), Calcined Gypsum (2 qian), Tangerine Peel (1 qian), Fried Perilla Seed (3 qian), Greater Burdock Fruit Skin (2 qian), Old Ginger (3 slices).
Shen (Right): Constitutionally Yin-deficient during pregnancy. Chronic diarrhea damaged Spleen Yang. Excessive sweating depleted Yang. Liver and Kidney Yin were further consumed. Mr. Chongshan repeatedly administered warming and astringent methods, stopping the diarrhea instantly. However, since Yin is depleted, it cannot recover quickly. Thus, Wood (Liver) lost nourishment, causing Wind-Yang to surge wildly. When attempting to sleep, nightmares occurred frequently. Lips were dry, jaw locked, limbs stiff and immobile. Laughing and crying suddenly. This is "Wind moves swiftly and changes often." Deficient Fire and Wind float upward. Body fluids are steamed and condensed into Phlegm. Phlegm blocks the Lung and Stomach. Jia Wood (Liver/Gallbladder) finds it harder to descend. This is essentially both Woods ascending together. Thus, expelling condensed Phlegm reduces symptoms slightly. The fetus is tied to the Spleen, but nourished by Blood. Long-term illness leads to Blood deficiency and Wind stirring. Sore waist and fetal descent are inevitable. Pulse is deficient and wiry. Tongue is crimson without coating. If premature birth occurs unexpectedly, deficiency upon deficiency will lead to unbearable conditions. The current plan is to nourish Yin to submerge Yang, tonify Qi to secure fetal breath, and incorporate calming, protecting, and Phlegm-resolving methods. Whether it will be effective remains to be discussed with Mr. Chongshan.
Raw Tortoise Shell, Raw Oyster Shell, Hangzhou White Peony Root, Cinnabar-infused Poria with Stimulus, Ejiao Beads, Raw Turtle Shell.
Taishen Xu, Eucommia Bark, Sour Jujube Seed (fried with 2 fen Coptis), Ligustrum Lucidum Fruit, Lapis Lazuli, Fritillaria Bulb (two ingredients ground finely and taken first).
