[Appendix Discussion]
Jiu Nue (Chronic Malaria) refers to malaria that persists without resolution. Due to excessive use of diaphoresis (sweating), emesis, or purgation therapies, the body's True Qi (Vital Energy) becomes deficient, allowing pathogenic factors to sink deeply and remain lodged within. The righteous Qi fails to counteract the pathogens, resulting in a prolonged course spanning years that is difficult to treat.
