Postpartum, the Chong and Ren meridians lack sufficient Qi and Blood. Both Qi and Blood are deficient. Pathogenic factors stealthily enter the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. The straight branch of this meridian descends from the Quepen (ST12) acupoint, passes along the medial aspect of the breast, runs alongside the umbilicus, and enters the Qichong (ST30) area. The Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) originates at Qichong (ST30), runs parallel to the Foot-Yangming Meridian, ascends alongside the umbilicus, and disperses in the chest. If the meridian is struck by pathogenic heat, blood becomes agitated and turbulent, and Qi stagnates. Turbulence causes pain; stagnation causes swelling. As stated in the *Neijing* (Inner Canon): "When Ying Qi (Nutritive Qi) does not follow its proper course and reverses into the muscle tissue, abscesses and swellings arise." This disease occurs because milk stasis interacts and combats with Qi.
