Postpartual vexation and oppression arise from the labor and injury of the zang-fu organs after childbirth, leading to deficiency and depletion of blood and qi. Wind-pathogen takes advantage of this to invade, combing with blood, causing qi mechanism to be unsmooth and obstructed, thereby generating heat. Alternatively, it manifests as vexating pain in limbs and joints, dry mouth. Heat generated by deficiency leads to frequent vexation and oppression. This is a condition where both exterior and interior are deficient, blood and qi have not yet recovered, and rebellious qi attacks upward, thus causing oppression and vexation. After new childbirth, both blood and qi are deficient. This may be due to excessive blood loss or insufficient lochia discharge, resulting in unfavorable movement of blood and qi, and imbalance of yin and yang. When yang prevails, it triggers vexation and oppression, as stated in the classics: "When yang prevails, there is heat."
