上先用当归、黄连、龙胆草三味。截碎。用铫子煎二大碗水。用此水研乳香、没药飞过。
再用此水飞过鹰条、白丁香。独将黄连四两。洗净令干。碾为细末重罗过。又碾飞过。或别
作法研磨。但要极细。于沙铫内。和净蜜四两同煮。却旋入诸药。煎成膏。可丸即止。惟独
后入下二味。
麝香（半钱重研细罗过） 脑子（半钱重研细罗过候前药成膏却入此二昧） 此药远年

皆治。须随病轻重。以为大小丸与之。每以净汤一大鸡子壳大。净汤内化开。日温洗五七次。

谷精散 治大人小儿。眼中生翳疼痛。并暴发赤眼。

卷帘散 治新久病眼。昏涩难开。翳膜遮睛。或成 肉。连赤烂。常多冷泪。或暴

腊。如皂子大两三块。于新白瓷盏内。慢火上熔。用纱帛子滤过。再于净盏内再熔了。将前
药末同共拌和。捏作饼子。如半破豌豆大。用薄绢或纱袋子盛了。以 砂半两。放在净碗内。

重明膏（出瑞竹堂一名洗眼药）治眼内云翳。无问远年不退。及诸般眼疾昏

密蒙花 黄柏根（洗锉各一两） 上为末。炼蜜和丸。如梧桐子大。每服十丸至十五丸。

黄金膏（出圣济总录一名黄柏膏）治一切眼疾退翳。
复明膏（出圣济总录）治目障。翳肉昏暗。
马牙硝（研一两半） 酸浆草（干者五两） 上于六月六日。用童子尿浸。于日中曝之。

杏仁膏（出圣济总录）治眼翳障膜遮。但瞳子不破者。
以杏仁三升。汤浸去皮尖。双仁。每一升。以面裹。于 火灰中。炮熟。去面。研杏仁
压取油。又取铜绿一钱。与杏仁同研。以铜箸点眼瘥。
白龙散（一名马牙硝散）治翳明目。
治眼生翳膜（出圣济总录）
以荠菜和根茎叶。不拘多少。洗净焙干。研为细末。每夜卧时。先净洗眼了。挑半粒米
许。
安两大 头。涩痛莫疑。翳膜不日自落。
治目翳方（出圣济总录）
以芥子一粒。轻手 入眼中。候日出。以井华水鸡子清洗之。
(Ingredients are) dried by baking for one night, then ground into a fine powder.
For dim vision. Administer with Danggui Decoction (Angelica Sinensis Decoction). Good wine may also be used. For women suffering from blood syncope (fainting due to blood deficiency or stagnation), administer with Danggui Decoction. For children with corneal opacities and carbuncles following smallpox/varicella eruptions, administer with Banxia decocted with Gujingcao (Eriocaulon Decoction). Another version of this formula does not contain Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) or Muzei (Equiseti Herba).
Secret Formula for Removing Opacity Sacred Golden Ointment (From Hai Shang Fang)
Lu Ganshi (Calamina, five taels): Soak in Tongbian (Child's Urine) thirty times, then grind extremely fine. Use Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and Longdancao (Gentianae Radix), each one tael, and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), three qian, to decoct two bowls of water. Pass the Calamina through this liquid (water levigation), then steam dry over boiling water, and grind again about a hundred times until it is as cold as ice and extremely fine. The stone must be selected for white color and very fine powder; yellow ones are only suitable for rouge). Wumeiyu Gu (Cuttlebone, half tael): Grind fine and add to the decoction. Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, five taels): Wash clean with water, dry, take one tael, chop, and decoct four taels of water. Grind into fine powder, sieve, and grind again until extremely fine. Pass through water (levigation). Boiling this medicine in a clay pot is difficult to make fine; in winter, wash with snow water, dry, and grind to achieve fineness). Ruxiang (Frankincense, three qian): Use transparent drop frankincense, passed through Huanglian water (levigation). Miduoseng (Litharge, half tael): Calcine with vinegar, grind fine, pass through water (levigation). Qingfen (Calomel, one qian): Grind fine and add to the medicine. Moyao (Myrrh, three qian): Passed through Huanglian etc. water (levigation). Dan (Lead Oxide/Red Lead variant, one tael): Seal with iron pot and mud, boil with water until dry and white like salt, then grind fine and add to decoction). Longdancao (Gentianae Radix, one tael): Chop and decoct in water. Mi (Honey, four taels): With one bowl of water, decoct in a copper pot. Stir honey with two stalks of Congbai (Scallion White). After decoction, place on the ground and use paper to dab off surface wax). Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, half tael): Clean. Half is baked dry and ground to fine powder, then mixed with a little water and added to the medicine; the other half is decocted in water). Ying Tiao (Eagle Droppings/Falcon Excrement, one qian): Passed through one bowl of water, ground fine. Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos) and Moyao (Myrrha) are washed with water, passed through, combined, and ground into the decoction; ensure thorough washing and weighing).
First, use Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), and Longdancao (Gentianae Radix). Chop them. Decoct in a pot with two large bowls of water. Use this water to grind Ruxiang (Frankincense) and Moyao (Myrrh) and pass through water (levigation). Use this water again to pass through Ying Tiao (Eagle Droppings) and Bai Dingxiang (White Civet Cat Excrement/Falcon Excrement). Take Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) separately, four taels. Wash clean and dry. Pound into fine powder, sieve, and pound again passing through water. Or use other grinding methods, but it must be extremely fine. In a clay pot, cook together with four taels of pure honey. Then gradually add the other medicines. Decoct into an ointment consistency; stop when pills can be formed. Only the last two ingredients are added subsequently:
Shexiang (Moschus, half qian weight): Grind fine and sieve. Naozi (Borneolum Syntheticum/Ice Borneol, half qian weight): Grind fine and sieve. Add these two after the previous medicine forms the ointment. This medicine treats chronic eye diseases. Dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of the disease. Each time, take a amount equivalent to one chicken egg shell filled with clean soup, dissolve it in clean soup, and wash the eyes five to seven times daily with warm solution. Alternatively, use size of a wheat grain to instill into the eyes, which is excellent.
Qianlu Kaiyi San (Anterior Valley Opacity-Removing Powder) Treats eye opacity barriers with divine efficacy.
Baijili (Tribuli Fructus): Stir-fry, crush, remove spines. Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma): Wash clean, soak in child's urine for two nights, change once daily). Chanqiao (Cicadae Periostracum): Wash and dry). Caihua Shepi (Snake Skin of Vegetable Flower Snake): Remove head, tail, and dorsal skin line. Wash with Sophora flower water, bake on new tile). Hao Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma - good quality). Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum): Soak in water, remove skin). Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix). Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix). Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix): Each half tael). Huayin Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma from Huayin). Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix): Each four qian). Baifuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma: Raw). Ming Lanshigao (Gypsum Fibrosum - clear and rotten type). Jingjisui (Schizonepetae Spica). Zhen Bangfen (Tridacnae Concha): Each three qian). All ground into fine powder. Take one and a half qian per dose. Point with boiling water, mix with tea liquor. Soak in mouth with medicine, wait long time for toxic saliva to come out, then replace with fresh medicine. Take after meals and before bed. Still use Dianyi Gao (Opacity-Instilling Ointment).
Gu Jing San (Valerian Seed Powder) Treats adults and children with eye opacity pain and sudden onset red eye.
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix). Chanqiao (Cicadae Periostracum). Shetui (Boas Skin). Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix). Gujingcao (Eriocauli Flos). Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos). Muzei (Equiseti Herba). Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma). Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma). Shanzhizi (Gardeniae Fructus). Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma). Shayuanjili (Astragali Complanati Semen): Equal parts. All ground into powder. Take half qian per dose. Mix with cooked water and swallow.
Juan Lian San (Rolling Blind Screen Powder) Treats new and old eye diseases, blurry and dry eyes difficult to open, opacity membranes covering pupils, or formation of fleshy growths (Pterygium), involving redness and ulceration of eyelids, frequent cold tears, or sudden onset red eye swelling and pain.
Lu Ganshi (Calamina, four taels, crushed). Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas, half tael, finely ground). Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, seven qian, pounded, decoct in one bowl of water for several boils, remove dregs). First, put Lu Ganshi powder in pot, calcine with opening until external glow appears. Then add Huanglian and Puxiao, soak in water and pass through (levigation), dry. Then add half qian Huanglian, pass through water, dry. Then add.
Nifen (Calomel): Grind separately. Huanglian Mo (Coptidis Rhizoma Powder, half tael). Qingyan (Blue Vitriol/Bismuth Subnitrate?). Baixingding (White Civet Cat Excrement/Falcon Excrement): Grind separately). Danfan (Chalcanthite/Rhopalum). Ruxiang (Frankincense): Grind separately). Cheqianzi Wan (Plantago Seed Pill) Treats heat-toxin eye dizziness, white opacity covering swelling.
Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen). Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen). Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove stamens). Lanshi (Indigo Naturalis/Fritillaria Bulb? Context suggests Indigo or similar blue herb, likely Indigo Naturalis based on "Lan"). Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, remove black heart). Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix). Shashen (Glehniae Radix/Qihong Shen). Qumai (Diantherae Herba). Qumaisui (Diantherae Herba tip). Digupi (Lycii Cortex). Qinpi (Fraxini Cortex). Ruiren (Pruni Armeniacae Semen): Remove shell, each one tael three fen). All ground into powder, mix with refined honey into pills like wutong seeds. Take thirty pills per dose. Swallow with cooked water. After meals, twice daily.
Mingmu Fangfeng Wan (Brighten Eyes Saposhnikovia Pill) Treats hot eyes where wind attacks head and face, caused by eating wine, noodles, roasted/fried foods, leading to eye membrane formation.
Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove forked root). Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen). Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, remove pith, stir-fry with bran). Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove stamens). Huaizi (Stemonae Semen). Chifuling (Poria Cocos with Red Skin, remove black skin). Gan Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos): Each one tael half). Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, remove stems/leaves one tael). Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix). Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma). Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma). Caojueming (Cassiae Semen). Longdancao (Gentianae Radix). Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba). Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma). Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix). Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix). Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba). Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus). Equal parts. For large white opacity, decoct with yellow wine. For red barrier, decoct with white water. Effective upon consumption.
Xianglian Gao (Fragrant Coptis Ointment) Treats eye opacity membranes.
Baisha Mi (White Sand Honey, five taels, filter dregs with silk). Sha (Realgar/Orpiment?, five qian, transparent ones grind). Ruxiang (Frankincense, grind one qian). Qingyan (Blue Vitriol/Salt?, one qian). Qiandan (Lithargyrum/Red Lead, one qian). Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove stamens, three taels, fine powder). These six ingredients, except honey, use three cups of fresh well water, decoct together in silver or earthenware vessel to one cup. Then add honey, simmer slowly into ointment, stirring constantly until it draws threads like silk. Strain through heavy silk, store in porcelain bottle.
The latter four ingredients are finely ground together, mixed into the ointment. Seal with oil paper three to five layers. In spring, summer, autumn, sink with hemp rope to bottom of well for seven days. If making in winter, seal in shady place for fourteen days then retrieve. Treats all except traumatic eye injuries.
Cheqian San (Plantago Powder) Treats eye opacity membranes blocking pupils, and internal cataracts/blindness.

Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, half qian, roast). Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba/Tenuifolia, three fen). Baiziren (Biota Semen, one fen). Take afterwards.
Shenxiao Gao (Divine Efficacy Ointment) (From Shengji Zonglu) Treats opacity membranes blocking vision, tearing upon exposure to wind, for instillation.
Qiandan (Lithargyrum/Red Lead, two taels). Mi (Honey, half jin, filter through silk). Pengsha (Borax, size of a bean, bright and pure). Qingyan (Blue Vitriol/Salt?, one qian). Yayanxiao (Sal Mirabilis/Magnesium Sulfate?, three qian). Bailongnao (Ice Borneol/Borneolum). Mix evenly. Cook in double boiler in pot until purple color appears. Stir constantly. When ready, store in bottle, seal tightly. When using, take small amount, mix with morning well water, instill with copper stick. Wipe tears with cloth. Instill again after tears stop. Three to five times day and night.

Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum). Huashi (Talcum). Dansha (Cinnabar, transparent). Wumeiyu Gu (Cuttlebone, remove shell, each weigh one qian). All grind fine, mix evenly. First use yellow beeswax, two or three pieces like soap seed size, melt in new white porcelain cup over slow fire. Filter through gauze, melt again in clean cup. Mix previous powder together, knead into cakes like half-broken pea size. Store in thin silk or gauze bag. Place half liang of sand in clean bowl. Put medicine bowl inside pit. Cover with bamboo mat, then cover with yellow earth. Retrieve after seven days. Store in clean porcelain bottle, discard sand. If suffering from floating opacity invading pupil and all eye diseases, at bedtime stick one cake to eye corner. Sleep until morning. Use one bowl of water, look east at water reflection. Medicine naturally falls into water. Wash clean. Wrap in silk, keep in clean place. At bedtime use again as before. Each cake lasts half a month. When efficacy slows, replace with new cake. If both eyes diseased, use two cakes.

Lianzicao (Persicaria Hydropiper). Lanqing (Indigo Folium): Each one handful). You (Oil, one jin). Chop two ingredients fine, put in bottle, soak in oil. Seal head with paper. Forty-nine days. Every night at bedtime, have someone use iron spoon to apply medicine, massage top of head forty-nine times, up to one hundred twenty times stop. This medicine must be prepared at dawn on Fifth Day of Fifth Month.

Mimenghua (Desmodii Strobili). Huangbai Gen (Phellodendri Cortex, wash cut, each one tael). All ground into powder, mix with refined honey into pills like wutong seeds. Take ten to fifteen pills per dose. After meals and before bed, swallow with cooked water. Or decoct maltose soup and take.
Huangjin Gao (Golden Ointment) (From Shengji Zonglu, also named Huangbai Gao) Treats all eye diseases removing opacity.
Fuming Gao (Restore Vision Ointment) (From Shengji Zonglu) Treats eye obstruction, fleshy opacity, dimness.
Yayanxiao (Sal Mirabilis/Magnesium Sulfate, grind one tael half). Suanjiangcao (Oxalis Corniculata, dried five taels). On Sixth Day of Sixth Month, soak in child's urine, expose to sun. At night cover medicine with new basin, bury in clean ground, depth five cun. Retrieve two days before Summer Solstice next year. Frost flies onto basin lid, sweep with black chicken feather. Patient places one rice grain size on inner canthus, avoid wind.
Dianshui Dan (Instill Water Pellet) (From Wei Shi Fang) Treats eye opacity and external red opacity penetrating pupil climbing cornea, effective only for thick opacity.
Chensha (Cinnabar, half qian). Haipiaoxiao (Sepiae Endoconcha, one qian). In mortar, grind fine, pass through water, settle and take supernatant. Melt small amount of yellow wax, add medicine. If not retreated, use once more, excellent. Wang Juyong said, chronic eye obstruction seeing nothing, just use one piece of Chen Sha, rub into eye daily. Hai Shang Fang said, within few days opacity fully retreats, vision clear as original.
Tongguang San (Unblock Light Powder) (From Shengji Zonglu) Treats pterygium, opacity membrane blur, wind-toxin swelling pain eye washing formula.
Use one Trichosanthes Fruit (Gualou). Cut off top lid. Take pulp and seeds, mash evenly with pig gallbladder. Put back into Gualou. Cover with original lid. Sit on clean earth. Collect ashes, grind extremely fine. Take two qian each time. Soak in boiling water, clarify, filter dregs, wash with it.
Xingren Gao (Apricot Kernel Ointment) (From Shengji Zonglu) Treats eye opacity membrane blocking, provided pupil is not broken.
Take three sheng Apricot Kernels (Xingren). Soak in hot water, remove skin and tips, double kernels. Each sheng, wrap in dough, roast in fire ashes until cooked. Remove dough, grind apricot kernels to press oil. Take one qian Tonglv (Verdigris/Copper Acetate), grind together with apricot kernels. Instill into eye with copper stick until healed.

Zhi Yan Sheng Yimo (Treating Eye Opacity Membrane Formation) (From Shengji Zonglu)
Use Shepherd's Purse (Jicai) including roots, stems, leaves, any amount. Wash clean, dry, grind into fine powder. Every night at bedtime, first wash eyes clean. Pick amount of half rice grain. Place in two outer canthi. Do not doubt astringency/pain. Opacity membrane will fall naturally in days.
Zhi Muyi Fang (Formula for Treating Eye Opacity) (From Shengji Zonglu)
Take one mustard seed (Jiezi). Gently insert into eye. Wait until sunrise. Wash with morning well water using chicken egg cleaning method.
