When Wind pathogen prevails, it causes tremors or movements. When Heat pathogen prevails, it causes swelling. Sudden swelling of the eyes is due to Wind-Heat evil Qi lodging in the Zang-Fu organs. The essence and Qi of the Five Zang and Six Fu organs all ascend and pour into the eyes.

Treats sudden redness of the eyes, severe pain, and impending formation of corneal opacity (Yi).

Treats eye heat pain and sudden swelling.
Use steamed Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang). Cut into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Use five qian each time. Add two zhan of water. Soak overnight. In the morning next day, squeeze out the juice and take orally. Stop when bowel movement is achieved.
