Ingest jade powder. Take it with water. Both methods can make one immortal. The reason it is inferior to gold [referring to metallic elixirs] is that it causes frequent fever, resembling the symptoms of Hanshi San (Cold Food Powder).

If taking jade, refer to the method of Taiji Zhenren's Qingjing Gan Shi Fan Jiao (from Bencao Fang):
Take 1 hu 5 dou of raw white japonica rice, pound and wash it again to obtain 1 hu 2 dou. Use 5 jin of leaves from *Cudrania tricuspidata* (Nanzhu Wood); 3 jin if dried is also acceptable. Mixing in stems and bark is better; use fresh leaves up to 9 dou of soft branches and bark, soak 2 dou of rice until it turns green like stone, ensuring each exposure to sun follows specific processing rules.

Method for taking Shu (Atractylodes) (from Bencao Fang):
Harvest in February, March, August, or September; dried herbs are also edible. Alternatively, combine with Poria cocos (Baifuling) or Acorus tatarinowii (Shichangpu), pound into powder, and take with water in the morning.

Method for taking Jade (from Bencao Fang):
Ingesting true jade extends life infinitely, making the body light enough to fly, not merely becoming a Earth Immortal. However, results are slow; one must ingest one or two hundred jin to see effects. [Text implies alchemical processing].

Method for taking Wuyun Stone (Five-Cloud Stone) (from Bencao Fang):
Dissolve Gui (Cinnamon Twig), Cong (Scallion), and Shuiyu (Quartz/Water Jade) into water. Or expose them in iron vessels to collect dew, then boil with Yuan Water to extract liquid. Or mix with Nuxiaoshi (Potassium Nitrate), bury in bamboo tubes to extract water. [Text references Baopuzi's method for taking Xionghuang (Realgar): Steam or wine-administered Xionghuang; dissolve Nuxiaoshi into water and coagulate; steam inside a pig carcass over red earth; or mix with Songzhi (Pine Resin)].

Yang Shu states: The human abdomen contains the Three Corpses (Sanshi), which are great harms to humans. The Three Corpses rely on Yin Qi to become spiritual entities, driven by selfish desires. Evil people claim inner peace leads to divine wisdom, but indulgence leads to foolishness. Therefore, sages cultivate truth and act diligently. If one can restrain oneself and inspire ambition, within three years, the Dao will be achieved. The heart generates light, fulfilling wishes and knowing past and future. [Text describes ascending to heaven, avoiding pain/illness, and managing weight/fatigue]. Sleep less, wake frequently so the Three Corpse Worms cannot report to Heaven and Earth. According to Taishang Ke Lv, on the 8th day of the 6th lunar month and during Gengshen nights, the Northern Emperor opens gates of sin to hear complaints from ghosts. If sins reach five thousand, death ensues. Guarding Gengshen once subdues the Three Corpses; guarding seven times eliminates them permanently, allowing the spirit to rest safely, the body to endure, and the Five Spirits to remain tranquil without disturbance. Each night before sleep, click teeth thirty-one times, place left hand on heart, call the names of the Three Corpses three times, and they will no longer cause harm. Also, on Yin days remove fingernails, on Wu days toenails. On July 16th annually, remove all nail clippings, burn to ash, mix with water, and ingest to permanently eliminate Three Corpses and Nine Worms. Mugwort (Mangcao) in Jiangnan is disliked by Three Corpses; bathing in its decoction removes them. On March 4th, take five sheng of peach leaves, pound thoroughly, strip clothes, avoid wind, sit on them in a sealed room to let qi enter the abdomen from dawn to dusk, causing corpse worms to exit. Among diseases, leprosy is hardest to cure, followed by Laozai (Consumption/TB). Once infected, it passes to descendants, called Chuanshi (Transmitting Corpse). To cure this, one must banish Three Corpses and Nine Worms and exhaust evil qi before administering medicines. People suffering from this blame past karma and accept death, which is confusing. Thus, superior scholars cultivate virtue to subdue them; middle scholars guard Gengshen to control them; inferior scholars take medicine to remove them.

[Recite incantation]: "You are earth ghosts, I am heavenly immortals. Act quickly according to law! Return to the easy path. Do not look back." Taishang Ritual: On Jiazi day, wash face... Enter room to sleep, dreams will manifest. Seeing people crying/thanking and leaving is a sign. If no sign, repeat next Jiazi day. Awakening combines with Yang, sleeping merges with Yin. More waking strengthens Hun (Ethereal Soul); more sleeping strengthens Po (Corporeal Soul). Strong Hun is the path of life; strong Po is the path of death. Restrain them. Upper Hun is Shuangling, courtesy name Fuyou; Middle Hun is Taiguang, courtesy name Heming; Lower Hun is Youjing, courtesy name Dangxing. Hun wants to go to heaven, Po wants to enter springs. Observe both naturally. Life follows Hun, death follows Po. Hun likes external wandering; keep mind empty and let qi flow. Five spirits unburdened, naturally align with Dao. Taiwei Lingshu says: On 3rd, 13th, 23rd evenings of each month, Three Hun leave the body. Must gather them. Method: Remove pillow, lie supine, cross feet (left pressing right), cross hands on chest, close eyes, hold breath for three breaths, visualize red qi in heart, rising from heart through throat. Feel slight heat, then call Three Hun names, click teeth softly: "Shuangling extends years, Taiguang benefits fortune, Youjing cuts off death." After three calls, click teeth three times saying: "Taiwei Yuangong, Zhonghuang begins clear, internally refine Three Hun, Three Spirits communicate peacefully. Spirit gem in jade chamber, born with me. Do not move wildly. Supervisor is Tianling." Every month, on dark/light/full moon days, Seven Po do not stay; must consciously restrain. Click teeth seven times, call them. Women click fourteen times. Names: Shigou, Fushi, Queyin, Tianzei, Feidu, Chu Hui, Poshi. Incantation: "Taishang Gaozun, Shanghuang Zhizhen, Ten Thousand Spirits settle. Seven Souls wear body, do not err, do not group with evil. Stay in house rear, transform into immortals. Forever guard shape, preserve true self, travel upper palace, become Huangbin."
