Regarding scorpion stings, there is a distinction between male and female scorpions. A sting from a male scorpion causes pain localized to one area. A sting from a female scorpion causes the venom to disperse, with no fixed location for the pain. Although many exorcistic incantation methods are passed down in the world, herbal decoctions for hot compresses and topical applications are commonly used. During May and June, when the toxicity of scorpions is at its peak—often referred to as "eight-joint" or "nine-joint" scorpions—their venomous qi is particularly severe. After being stung by such scorpions, toxic heat circulates throughout the body, causing pain that radiates to all four limbs.
Chui Bi San (Nose-Blowing Powder)
Treats scorpion stings.
Veratrum Viride Rhizoma (Lilu, 藜芦) (remove rhizome head), Syringae Flos (Dingxiang, 丁香), Malvae Sinensis Flos (Shuhua, 蜀葵花蕊), Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus (Zhuyazaojia, 猪牙皂荚) (roasted with lard, skin removed), Piperis Kadsurae Fructus (Bibo, 荜茇) (half liang). The above herbs are crushed into powder. Each time, take an amount equivalent to "one character" (a small measure) of the powder and blow it into the nostrils.
