[Regulating Qi Formulas / Unblocking Menstruation Formulas]
**Danliao Zhu Fu Wan (Diliao Decoction-Boiled Aconite Pill)**: Indicated for irregular menstruation, stabbing pain due to Qi and Blood stagnation, abdominal and hypochondriac distension, dizziness, nausea, metrorrhagia (heavy bleeding between periods), and leukorrhea. It is suitable for all these conditions.
*Preparation*: Rhizoma Cyperi (Xiangfu) (rub off the skin, amount not fixed, soak in rice vinegar for one day, boil in a clay pot until the vinegar is exhausted).
Make pills with vinegar paste, size of wu zi (cibotium seed). Dry in the sun. Take 50 pills each time, administered with light vinegar decoction.
Another prescription: Rhizoma Cyperi (1 jin), Folium Artemisiae Argyi (Aiye) (4 liang), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) (2 liang). Prepared similarly, named "Ai Fu Wan".
**Yan Shi Yi Qi San (Yan's Suppressing Qi Powder)**: Treats women where Qi is excessive relative to Blood, leading to various syndromes such as dizziness and chest diaphragm fullness.
Rhizoma Cyperi (4 liang), Poria Cum Radix Pini (Fushen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (roasted, 1 liang each), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chenpi) (2 liang).
Grind into powder. Take 2 qian each time before meals, mixed with boiling water.
Note: This formula primarily regulates Qi; Zhu Fu Wan regulates Blood within Qi. However, for severe Qi stagnation, other formulas in the Qi Syndrome category should be selected rather than adhering strictly to this one.
**Dong Yuan Yi Wei Sheng Yang Tang (Dong Yuan's Stomach-Nourishing and Yang-Raising Decoction)**: Treats women with irregular menstruation, or after blood loss presenting with weak pulse, poor appetite, and watery diarrhea two to three times daily.
Radix Astragali (Huangqi) (2 qian), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (roasted), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) (Shen part), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chenpi) (1 qian each), Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Baizhu) (3 qian), Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Shengma), Radix Bupleuri (Chaihu) (0.5 qian each), Semen Hordei Coctum (Chao Qu) (1.5 qian), Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin) (0.5 qian, omit in autumn).

**Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction)**: Treats irregular menstruation in married or unmarried women, presenting with faint pulse, poor appetite, fatigue, or fever.
See Fever Category.
Note: These two formulas are methods for regulating Qi and Blood, representing the major principle of tonifying Qi when treating blood depletion.
**Ganzhu Zheng Qi Tian Xiang Tang (Ganzhu's Righteous Qi and Heavenly Fragrance Decoction)**: Treats all Qi disorders in women, where Qi rushes upward to the heart, causing attacking pain in the chest and heart, stabbing pain in the hypochondrium, and irregular menstruation.
Radix Linderae (Tai Wuyao) (2 qian), Rhizoma Cyperi (Xiangfuzi) (8 qian), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chenpi), Folium Perillae (Suye) (1 qian each), Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Ganjiang) (0.5 qian).
Crush. Decoct 7-8 qian with water and take.
Caution: Women's menstrual diseases are often caused by Seven Emotions and Six Stagnations. The above examples are collected to illustrate this principle. Generally, if Qi flows normally, menstruation will also flow normally.
**Liang Fang Tong Jing Wan (Excellent Prescription Unblocking Menstruation Pill)**: Treats amenorrhea in women and unmarried girls, with umbilical and abdominal pain, or formation of blood masses (Lei Ji).
Fructus Zanthoxyli (Chuanjiao) (stir-fried), Rhizoma Curcumae (Pengzhu/Ezhu), Resina Taxodi (Ganqi) (stir-fried), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) (1.5 qian), Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride (Qingpi), Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Ganjiang), Radix Rheomi (Dahuang), Semen Persicae (Taoren) (stir-fried), Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Chuanwu), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin) (1 qian each).

Crush. Decoct 4 qian with water and take.
**Hong Hua Dang Gui San (Red Flower and Angelica Powder)**: Treats deficiency and exhaustion of the Blood Palace, or accumulated stagnant blood causing amenorrhea, frequent abdominal pain, heavy pain in waist and hips, hard lower abdomen, and amenorrhea in unmarried girls.

**Guizhi Taoren Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Peach Kernel Decoction)**: Treats amenorrhea, cold hernia pain around the navel, with deep and tight pulse. This is caused by Cold invading the Blood Palace, causing blood coagulation and stagnation.
