风胜加荆芥、防风、薄荷叶，火盛加连翘、生地、丹皮、牛蒡子，煎服。
止痛散（程山龄。）

乳细擦牙，出涎立愈。

上左尽牙属胆，加龙胆草三分，羌活

下左尽牙属肝，加柴胡六分，栀子五分。

下右尽牙属肺，加黄芩六分，桔梗六分。
牙痛，加蒲公英八分，金银花六分，贝母六分。
牙床肿，加连翘八分。
漱方
苏薄荷 射干 牛膝 夏枯草 山豆根 陈茶叶
煎漱。并治咽喉肿痛。
又方
苍耳子 北细辛 花椒（各五钱） 小麦（浮者一撮）
好醋一碗，煎半碗漱之。
又方 山豆根切三分长，以滴醋浸一时，噙于口中，将苦汁咽下，久而又换
一块，连换数次，自愈。
又方
火硝（五钱） 草果（一两咀片，盐水浸一时炒干）
研细擦之。
风火虫牙。
巴豆（一粒，灯上烧去壳） 花椒（三粒）
捣丸口含患处立止。
又方
白芷 北细辛 鹤虱 干茄子（各等分）
研细，一擦即止。
又方 樟冰、雄黄各等分，研细擦。
又方 火硝三钱，明雄七分，冰片一分，研细搽。
麝香散
真麝香（二钱） 黄连（一钱） 冰片（三分）
研匀。每一伏时匀擦五六次。
虚火牙痛 清晨以小便频漱，立止。
牙痛。
黄豆（五粒） 巴豆（三粒）
捶研丸豆子大。用一丸含牙痛处，出
涎尽，以温水漱四五次。
又方
乳香（去油） 香白芷 没药（去油） 雄黄 川芎（各二钱） 火硝（五钱）
各研。另装瓶内，临时旋合，令患者含水一口，将药吹鼻孔内，吐水即愈。
又方
真轻粉 杭粉（各一钱）
研匀。用大蒜捣匀，填入白果壳内，合鱼际穴上，用绢帛缚之。痛止即去，迟则起泡。
又方
牛膝（炒） 大黄（炒） 杜仲 青盐（各等分）
研细，擦痛处即止。
虫牙。
川乌 草乌 胡椒（各等分）
研细。铺草纸内作捻，蘸麻油点着，吹熄，以烟噙患处熏之。
取牙法
白马牙（火 存性） 川乌（ 存性） 紫玉簪 花根（竹刀切片，阴阳瓦焙）
各等分，研匀。每用少许，点牙龈上，其牙自落。
牙痛不可忍者。
北细辛 高良姜 草乌 白芷 荜茇（各等分）
研匀。每用少许，搽之立止。
风火虫牙 黄蜡一两，瓷器重汤炖化，离火将凝，入有纹龙骨，生用，不必
炮制，杭粉各二钱五分，麝香二分五厘，研细搅匀，做成大小粗细锭子。如有牙痛，取
纸条在暖壶上熨热，摊药纸上，临卧时剪一块，贴在痛牙上。次早取下，如墨染黑
一般，诸毒尽出，其效如神。
又方 明雄、玄明粉各等分，研细搽上，立止。
又方 五倍子、防风、青盐各等分，研末，火 存性擦之，后以醋或盐水漱去涎。
虫牙 五倍子、胡椒研末为丸，塞
虫蚀孔中，即止。
风火虫牙 鲜生姜切片，噙在疼处，流涎则住痛。
又方 三年陈酱茄蒂，阴阳瓦焙存性，加硼砂二厘，冰片一厘为末，擦之立止。
又方 陈茄子烧存性，枇杷叶炙脆，各等分为末，加冰片少许，擦上立止。
又方 先以热醋漱口，再用海螵硝末擦牙。
四宝汤
当归 生地黄 升麻 赤芍药
各三钱。水二盅，煎一盅，服一半，留一半，漱口吐去，牙痛立止。
又方 蕲艾一两，大蜂窝一个，同好醋煎浓漱口，一日愈。
又方 牛蒡子生研，绵裹塞痛处，流出苦水，即愈。
又方 荔枝壳装青盐，烧存性擦牙痛处，极验。
锦囊新定颊肿齿疾神方 治尺脉无力，虚火上攻，寒束内热，颊肿齿痛。
羌活（二钱） 制附子（一钱） 北细辛（八分） 石膏（ 三钱）
水三盅，煎一盅，食前服。
牙痛不可忍，腮颊牙龈皆肿者 荔枝七枚，凿一孔，去肉入醋于内，放灯头
上烧滚。漱之，其肿立消，其痛立止。
贴牙去毒，至老不痛。（《济生》）
山栀（煎浓汁） 黄柏（煎浓汁，各五钱） 真麝香（五分） 杭粉（五钱） 龙骨（五钱打如
豆大块子，入栀柏汁内煮干）
研极细。用明净黄腊一两熔化，入前药和匀，捏成锭，摊绢上，剪作细条，临
卧时贴牙上，明晨取下。凡黑处俱有毒，是作痛处也。

生半夏 儿茶（各五厘） 冰片（三厘）
上研细末，用壁上 蛛窠，包药少许，捻在细柳枝上，蘸油点着，即吹灭热刺痛
处，至重者三四次，即愈。

Radix Puerariae (2 qian), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (1.5 qian), Poria Cocos with Red Dye (0.5 qian), Radix Glycyrrhizae (0.5 qian).
For excess Wind, add Radix Schizonepetae, Rhizoma Saposhnikoviae, Folium Menthae Haplocalycis. For excess Fire, add Fructus Forsythiae, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Cortex Moutan, Semen Arctii. Decoct and take orally.
Zhi Tong San (Pain-Relieving Powder, by Cheng Shanling)
Natrii Sulfas (3 qian), Borax (3 qian), Realgar (2 qian), Borneolum Syntheticum (0.15 qian), Moschus (0.05 qian).
Grind finely and rub on teeth; salivation will occur and cure will follow immediately.
Decoction Formula
Flos Schizonepetae, Rhizoma Saposhnikoviae, Cortex Moutan, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (each 0.7 fen); Semen Arctii, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride, Gypsum Fibrosum, Radix Glycyrrhizae (each 0.3 fen).
The four upper central incisors correspond to the Heart; add Radix Coptidis (0.3 fen), Folium Ophiopogonis (0.5 fen).
The four lower central incisors correspond to the Kidney; add Cortex Phellodendri (0.6 fen), Rhizoma Anemarrhenae (0.6 fen).
The two upper lateral incisors correspond to the Stomach; add Radix Angelicae Dahuricae (0.5 fen), Radix Chuanxiong (0.3 fen).
The two lower lateral incisors correspond to the Spleen; add Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae Stir-fried (0.6 fen), Radix Paeoniae Alba Stir-fried (0.6 fen).
The upper left molar corresponds to the Gallbladder; add Radix Gentianae (0.3 fen), Rhizoma Notopterygii (0.7 fen).
The lower left molar corresponds to the Liver; add Radix Bupleuri (0.6 fen), Fructus Gardeniae (0.5 fen).
The upper right molar corresponds to the Large Intestine; add Radix Scutellariae (0.6 fen), Radix Platycodi (0.6 fen).
The lower right molar corresponds to the Lung; add Radix Scutellariae (0.6 fen), Radix Platycodi (0.6 fen).
For severe toothache, add Flos Lonicerae Japonicae (0.8 fen), Herba Taraxaci (0.8 fen), Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii (0.6 fen).
For swollen gums, add Fructus Forsythiae (0.8 fen).
Rinse Formula
Folium Menthae Haplocalycis, Radix Belamcandae, Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae, Herba Prunellae, Radix Sophorae Tonkinensis, Old Tea Leaves.
Decoct for rinsing. Also treats sore throat and swelling.
Another Formula
Fructus Xanthii, Radix Asari, Fructus Zanthoxyli (each 5 qian), Triticum aestivum (a pinch of floating grains).
With one bowl of good vinegar, decoct until half remains, then rinse.
Another Formula
Cut Radix Sophorae Tonkinensis into 0.3 fen segments, soak in vinegar for one shichen (two hours). Hold in mouth, swallow the bitter juice. Replace after a long time, repeat several times, and it will heal naturally.
Another Formula
Saltpeter (5 qian), Fructus Tsaoko (1 liang, sliced, soaked in salt water for one shichen, then stir-fried dry).
Grind finely and rub.
For Wind-Fire Dental Caries.
Semen Crotonis (one seed, burnt on lamp wick to remove shell), Fructus Zanthoxyli (three grains).
Pound into pills, hold in affected area, pain stops immediately.
Another Formula
Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, Radix Asari, Radix Dictamni, Dry Eggplant (equal parts).
Grind finely, rub once to stop pain.
Another Formula
Borneolum Syntheticum, Realgar (equal parts), grind finely and rub.
Another Formula
Saltpeter (3 qian), Realgar (0.7 fen), Borneolum Syntheticum (0.1 fen), grind finely and apply.
Moschus Powder
Real Moschus (2 qian), Radix Coptidis (1 qian), Borneolum Syntheticum (0.3 fen).
Grind uniformly. Rub evenly 5-6 times every fu shi (approx. 2 hours).
Toothache due to Deficient Fire
Rinse frequently with urine early in the morning; pain stops immediately.
Toothache.
Sojae Semen Album (5 grains), Semen Crotonis (3 grains).
Pound and grind into pills the size of soybeans. Hold one pill at the painful tooth until saliva flows out completely, then rinse with warm water 4-5 times.
Another Formula
Resina Draconis (de-oiled), Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, Resina Myrrhae (de-oiled), Realgar, Radix Chuanxiong (each 2 qian), Saltpeter (5 qian).
Grind separately. Store in separate bottles, mix just before use. Have patient hold a mouthful of water, blow powder into nostrils, spit out water to be cured.
Another Formula
Calomelas, Zinc Oxide (each 1 qian).
Grind uniformly. Mash garlic, fill inside a ginkgo nut shell, bind to Yuji (LU 10) acupoint with silk bandage. Remove when pain stops; leaving it too long causes blisters.
Another Formula
Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae (stir-fried), Radix Rheomi Palmati (stir-fried), Caulis Eucommiae, Natrii Sulfas (equal parts).
Grind finely, rub on painful area to stop pain.
Dental Caries.
Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii, Rhizoma Aconiti Karakolicum, Fructus Piperis Longi (equal parts).
Grind finely. Place in grass paper as a roll, dip in sesame oil, light, extinguish smoke, and fumigate affected area.
Tooth Extraction Method
Horse Tooth (calcined), Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii (calcined), Radix Wisteriae Sinensis Flower Root (sliced with bamboo knife, baked on yin-yang tile).
Equal parts, grind uniformly. Apply small amount to gum, tooth will fall out naturally.
Unbearable Toothache.
Radix Asari, Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum, Rhizoma Aconiti Karakolicum, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, Fructus Piperis Kadsurae (equal parts).
Grind uniformly. Apply small amount to stop pain immediately.
Wind-Fire Dental Caries
Beeswax (1 liang), melt in porcelain over double boiler. When near solidification off heat, add Dragon Bone with grain (raw, unprocessed), Zinc Oxide (each 2.5 qian), Moschus (0.25 fen). Grind fine, mix well, form into rods. Heat paper strip on thermos, spread medicine on paper, cut piece, stick on painful tooth before sleep. Remove next morning; black residue indicates toxins expelled. Effect is miraculous.
Another Formula
Realgar, Mirabilite (equal parts), grind fine and rub. Stops pain immediately.
Another Formula
Galla Chinensis, Rhizoma Saposhnikoviae, Natrii Sulfas (equal parts), grind, calcine, rub. Rinse with vinegar or salt water afterwards.
Dental Caries
Galla Chinensis, Fructus Piperis Longi, grind to powder, make pills, insert into carious hole. Stops pain immediately.
Wind-Fire Dental Caries
Fresh Ginger slice, hold in painful area. Salivation stops pain.
Another Formula
Three-year-old fermented eggplant stalk, calcined on yin-yang tile, add Borax (0.02 fen), Borneolum Syntheticum (0.01 fen), grind, rub. Stops pain immediately.
Another Formula
Old eggplant calcined, Fried Loquat Leaf (equal parts), grind, add little Borneolum Syntheticum, rub. Stops pain immediately.
Another Formula
Rinse with hot vinegar first, then rub with Sepia Endoconcha powder.
Si Bao Tang (Four Treasures Decoction)
Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Radix Cimicifugae, Radix Paeoniae Rubra.
Each 3 qian. Water 2 bowls, decoct to 1 bowl. Drink half, use half to rinse and spit out. Toothache stops immediately.
Another Formula
Ai Ye (1 liang), large wasp nest (one), decoct with good vinegar until thick, rinse. Cured in one day.
Another Formula
Semen Arctii raw ground, wrapped in cotton, stuffed into painful area. Bitter fluid flows out, then cured.
Another Formula
Lychee shell filled with Natrii Sulfas, calcined, rub on painful tooth. Very effective.
Jin Nang Xin Ding Jia Zhong Chi Ji Shen Fang (New Divine Formula for Cheek Swelling and Dental Disease from Brocade Bag)
Treats weak Chi pulse, deficient fire attacking upward, cold binding internal heat, causing cheek swelling and toothache.
Rhizoma Notopterygii (2 qian), Prepared Rhizoma Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (1 qian), Radix Asari (0.8 fen), Gypsum Fibrosum (3 qian).
Water 3 bowls, decoct to 1 bowl. Take before meals.
Unbearable Toothache with Swollen Cheeks and Gums
Seven lychees, drill hole, remove flesh, fill with vinegar, boil on lamp wick. Rinse with this; swelling subsides, pain stops immediately.
Apply to Teeth to Remove Toxins, No Pain in Old Age (from *Ji Sheng Fang*)
Fructus Gardeniae (thick decoction), Cortex Phellodendri (thick decoction, each 5 qian), Real Moschus (0.5 fen), Zinc Oxide (5 qian), Dragon Bone (5 qian, crushed bean-sized, boiled in Gardenia/Phellodendri juice until dry).
Grind extremely fine. Melt 1 liang pure yellow beeswax, mix with above powders, mold into sticks, spread on silk, cut into thin strips. Apply to teeth before sleep, remove next morning. Black areas indicate toxicity and pain source.
Another Formula
Rhizoma Pinelliae Recens, Catha Edulis (each 0.05 fen), Borneolum Syntheticum (0.03 fen).
