When the eye is initially afflicted, it may suddenly be accidentally pierced by an object, or acupuncture and moxibustion may be performed improperly. This causes one eye to become diseased first, which then affects the other eye, leading to damage in both. This is because the pain is unbearable; when lying down, the healthy eye is placed on the pillow, allowing toxic blood to flow into the healthy eye, causing injury. Initially, Zhiteng Moyao San (Pain-Relieving Myrrh Powder) should be taken, followed by Zhuanyi Mingmu Wan (Cataract-Descending and Vision-Clarifying Pill). Applying Mosha Shi San (Mosha Stone Powder) topically yields immediate results.
Poem:
The eyes suffer deficiency of the Five Wheels due to piercing and stabbing,
Pain in the orbital region feels as if pierced by an awl.
When sleeping, placing the good eye on the pillow,
Evil blood flows out, obstructing the light.
Alas, for the pure and flawless membrane,
Submerging the bright pearl, a perilous state indeed.
One must use Mosha Stone as an eye drop,
To return the evil blood to its origin.

When the eye is initially afflicted, it is often due to wind blowing dust or foreign objects into the eye. These adhere to the eyelid skin and stick to the eyeball, causing pain, a sensation of grittiness and difficulty opening the eye, and inability to distinguish people. To treat this, the eyelid must be turned up, and a needle wrapped in cotton used to pick out the foreign body. Medication should be taken for recuperation, and dietary restrictions observed. If a corneal opacity (nebula) forms, urgently take Tuibi Cheqian San (Corneal Opacity-Removing Plantago Powder) and Bugan Wan (Liver-Nourishing Pill).
Poem:
Various objects cause squinting, flying or splashing in,
After sticking to the eyeball, pain and grittiness make opening difficult.
Using a cotton-wrapped needle to remove them brings clarity and relief,
Though opacities may form, good medicine can restore vision.
