In the world, there are women who indulge in their desires and act improperly, or who resent raising children, often using herbal medicines to poison themselves. This inevitably leads to敗血 (disordered blood) rushing to the heart, resulting in death due to mental confusion, panting, and sweating. In such emergencies, it is urgent to detoxify and promote blood circulation; Bian Dou San (Lablab Bean Powder) is suitable. If toxic drugs damage the fetus, causing lower back pain and shortness of breath, E Jiao San (Donkey-hide Gelatin Powder) [formula see above under "Traumatic Injury to Fetus"] should be used with one qian of Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome). If there is no response, Zhi Mu Wan (Anemarrhena Pill) should be decocted and taken.
Bian Dou San (Lablab Bean Powder)
Bai Bian Dou (Lablab Seed, one liang, used raw)
Grind into an extremely fine powder, mix with fresh cold water, and take two to three qian. For patients with lockjaw, pry open the mouth and administer the medicine.
Zhi Mu Wan (Anemarrhena Pill)
Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, stir-fried and ground)
Pound jujube flesh to make pills the size of a marble. Take one pill per dose, chewed and swallowed with the decoction of E Jiao San. (This formula can also be taken with Ren Shen Tang [Ginseng Decoction].)
If pregnancy is not handled carefully regarding diet, and toxic substances or drugs are mistakenly ingested leading to fetal movement, Hei Dou Tang (Black Soybean Decoction) is suitable.
Hei Dou Tang (Black Soybean Decoction)
Hei Dou (Sojae Semen Nigrum, three he) Dan Zhu Ye (Lophatheri Herba, ten leaves, washed) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, three qian)
Decoct in water and take orally.
What is referred to as "Ghost Fetus" (Gui Tai)? Is it truly that ghostly qi invades the uterus and forms a fetus? This condition arises because the woman's constitution is weak, or due to the accumulation of evil thoughts, causing blood to congeal with qi and not disperse, or because Wei Qi (Defensive Qi) and Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) are stagnant and reversed, causing the pulse channels to be obstructed and瘀 (stasis) to prevent flow. This is a disease originating within the uterus. It is certainly not an external pathogen, but rather belongs to categories such as Xue Jia (Blood Mass) or Qi Jia (Qi Mass). Therefore, it should be treated according to the methods for treating Jia masses. Furthermore, encounters with fox spirits or other strange entities, although they may involve actual infection, do not constitute "Ghost Fetus." These should also be treated by expelling them using methods for Jia masses. Thus, symptoms of Ghost Fetus are mostly due to deficiency of Qi and Blood combined with stagnation. If menstrual irregularities are addressed with preventive regulation and tonification, this condition would definitely not occur. Since this condition exists, the primary approach should be to regulate and tonify Yuan Qi (Primal Qi), followed by medications that remove accumulations. Therefore, for those wishing to combine tonification with promotion of flow, Jue Jin Jian (Ferry-Crossing Decoction) is unparalleled. For those wishing to remove stagnation without using harsh or峻烈 (severe/potent) drugs, Tong Yu Jian (Unblocking Stasis Decoction) is unparalleled. When both tonification and direct attack on the disease are desired, Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) and Hui Sheng Dan (Resurrection Pill) can be used酌情 (as appropriate). Alternatively, decocting Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) and Hong Hua (Carthami Flos) thickly and swallowing Chi Jin Dou (Red Gold Bean) is also excellent.
