Tianxiong (Sanliang, 3 liang). Baizhu (Baliang, 8 liang). Guizhi (Liuliang, 6 liang). Longgu (Sanliang, 3 liang).
The above four herbs. Pound into a powder. Take half a Qianbi (a small measuring spoon shape) with wine. Three doses per day. If there is no effect, gradually increase the dosage. (You Zaijing said: This formula is suspected to be an addition by later generations.
To supplement
Song (Verse): When Yin essence is unsecured due to deficiency of the root Yang, Longgu and Tianxiong each at Sanliang (3 liang) assist it. Guizhi at Liuliang (6 liang) and Baizhu at Baliang (8 liang), mixed with wine and taken as one Qianbi per dose, three times daily.
Yu Xi's commentary: Although this formula was adopted by later generations, it correctly identifies the beginning of Spring generation and the home of Yang, employing great warming, great tonifying, and great anchoring/astringing agents.
It can be said that

(The verse appears in *Changsha Fang Ge Kua*.) It is the main formula for treating Xu Lao (Deficiency Consumption) presenting with Li Ji (abdominal urgency/tightness), Ji (palpitations), Nu (epistaxis), Fuzhong Tong (abdominal pain), Meng Shi Jing (nocturnal emission in dreams), Sizhi Suan Teng (soreness and pain in the four limbs), Shouzhu Fanre (heat sensation in hands and feet), Yangan Kouzao (dry throat and dry mouth).

Zhang Xinzi said: Diseases of Lung damage often arise from Fire generated by the Five Emotions, which consumes the Metal organ. Cough and fever gradually progress to asthma, sleeping on the side, emaciation, and extreme thinness.
Efficacy. What is the reason? I once observed the fire in a stove and gained insight. When cooking rice, one starts with Wu Huo (vigorous fire); when nearly cooked, one covers it with ash. The rice cooks slowly without burning or turning black. Thus, we know that using ash to nurture fire allows one to utilize the function of fire without its harmful effects. This is absolutely certain. The Fire of the Five Emotions burns internally; by warming and tonifying the Spleen Earth to nourish it, the flame naturally subsides. One uses Xiao Jianzhong Tang (Minor Construct the Middle Decoction). For severe deficiency, add Huangqi (Astragalus Root). When Fire is nourished, it does not flare up recklessly; Lung Metal becomes clear and肃 (descending/clear). Moreover, since Yi Tang (Maltose) is the Sovereign herb, it is a wonderful product for treating coughs, and it can tonify Earth to generate Metal. Although Lung damage is difficult to treat, one need not worry about incurability. However, it treats not only Lung damage; all cases of Wu Lao Qi Shang (Five Exhaustions and Seven Injuries) can also be
treated.
It is the main formula for treating Xu Lao (Deficiency Consumption) presenting with Li Ji (abdominal urgency/tightness) and Zhu Bu Zu (various deficiencies).
This is Xiao Jianzhong Tang plus Huangqi (Astragalus Root) at Liang Wu Qian (1.5 liang). For those with shortness of breath and chest fullness, add Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger). For abdominal fullness, remove Dazao (Jujube) and add Fuling (Poria) at Liang Ban (1.5 liang). And
to treat Lung deficiency and insufficiency, to tonify Qi, add Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) at Sanliang (3 liang).
Song (Verse): Xiao Jian Tang plus Huangqi at Liang Ban (1.5 liang) treats all deficiencies and Li Ji without omission. Urgency requires sweet and緩 (relaxing/pacifying) methods, and deficiency requires tonification; this confirms Changsha (Zhang Zhongjing) as the teacher for a hundred generations.
Addition and Subtraction Song (Verse): For shortness of breath and chest fullness, Shengjiang is good; add three liang to make six liang total. If encountering abdominal fullness and bloating that is hard to resolve, add Fuling at Liang Ban (1.5 liang) and remove Dazao. And
treating Lung
