Roebuck Meat: Nature is warm. It primarily tonifies the five zang organs. *Ri Hua Zi* states: "Meat is non-toxic." Consuming it from the eighth month to the twelfth month is superior to mutton; consuming it from after the twelfth month to the seventh month may disturb qi. Daoists consume it frequently, stating there are no prohibitions.
Dog Meat: Flavor is salty, nature is warm, non-toxic. It calms the five zang organs, repairs severe injuries, benefits yang qi, nourishes blood vessels, thickens the stomach and intestines, solidifies the lower jiao, and fills the essence. Yellow dog meat is particularly excellent. Do not consume with garlic, as it will surely cause sudden harm. In the ninth month, it should not be eaten, as it damages the spirit. Boiling the four feet of a dog for consumption promotes lactation.
Pig Stomach: Flavor is bitter, non-toxic. It primarily constricts blood vessels, weakens sinews and bones, and causes obesity in lean individuals. It should not be consumed long-term, as it stirs wind. It is especially detrimental to those suffering from metal weapon wounds (Jin Chuang). Pig stomach primarily tonifies the middle jiao and qi, and stops thirst.
Kidney: Nature is cold. It harmonizes kidney qi and promotes urination through the bladder.
Pig Trotters: Nature is slightly cold. It primarily treats various ulcerated sores caused by beating or trauma, and promotes lactation.
Pork: Flavor is bitter, non-toxic. It primarily nourishes skin and muscles, leading to flaccid obesity. Female pork is more delicious and suitable for winter consumption. Pork from pigs fed on acorns has red flesh, tonifies the five zang organs, treats intestinal wind with bloody diarrhea, and tastes superior to domestic pork.
Rabbit Meat: Flavor is sweet, nature is neutral, non-toxic. However, it should not be eaten in excess, as it stirs wind qi and makes the body feel heavy.
Tiger Meat: Flavor is salty, nature is neutral, non-toxic. It treats water retention and distension. It cures epidemic diseases, various heat-toxic winds, cough, and consumptive disorders. Do not consume with rabbit meat.
Otter Liver: Flavor is sweet, toxic. It treats intestinal wind with bloody stool and prevents the transmission of Zhu disease (a contagious chronic wasting disease).
Otter Skin: When used to decorate collars and cuffs, dust and dirt do not adhere. If sand or wind irritates the eyes, wiping with the sleeve expels them. Additionally, if a fish bone is stuck in the throat, scratching the neck below with an otter claw dislodges it.
Tiger Eye: Flavor is salty and sour, nature is neutral, non-toxic. It primarily treats nausea and vomiting, and boosts energy. Consuming it before entering mountains causes tigers to fear humans, warding off thirty-six types of malevolent spirits.
Tiger Bone: It primarily dispels evil qi, kills ghostly Zhu toxins, and stops palpitations and fright. It treats malignant sores and scrofula (Shu Lou), with skull bone being the most effective.
