费（右） 寒热日作，热势甚重，苔腻质红，渴不多饮，咽痛颧红，鼻窍两目火出。此恼怒动肝，肝火挟湿热
熏蒸少阳阳明，则寒热往来。肝胆之火，与吸气相触，呃忒声彻户外，其为气火无疑。

广郁金（二钱） 金铃子（一钱五分） 柿蒂（三枚）
顾（左） 病后湿留阳明，郁蒸凛热，耳鸣目黄神倦，逆气上冲，呃忒旬日不止，凌晨盗汗。此皆湿热见证，
医用镇摄温化，其呃愈甚，殊不知清化湿热，热平呃自止耳。

杨（左） 疟后肿胀，攻下之后，胀退成痢，两日来更兼呃忒。中阳欲败，有厥脱之虞。

二诊 下痢呃忒，投温补中阳，呃仍不止，沃出涎水。脉象弦滑。胃中夹杂痰食。勉方图幸。

右 脘痛投温而止。恶心不纳，投以苦辛，致酸涎呃忒。胃阴不能转旋也。

王（左） 嗳气略减，浊痰稍得泄化。再降胆胃，胃府通降，则益肾补心之药，方能任受也。

二诊 寐稍得安，仍然多梦，气冲嗳噫。胆胃之气，不克下行。前法再参降胃。

曹（左） 久虚不复，肾气不能收摄，气觉短促，冲气上逆，嗳噫作呛。病由遗滑而来。脉象细弦。拟气血并

[Appendix: Belching and Hiccup]
Patient Fe (Right pulse): Chills and fever occur daily, with severe heat intensity. The tongue coating is greasy and the tongue body is red. There is thirst but little desire to drink. Sore throat, malar flush, and a sensation of fire emanating from the nostrils and eyes. This is caused by anger stirring up Liver Qi; Liver Fire combined with Damp-Heat steaming the Shaoyang and Yangming meridians leads to alternating chills and fever. The Fire of the Liver and Gallbladder contacts the inhaled air, causing hiccups audible outside the room; this is undoubtedly due to Qi and Fire.

Patient Gu (Left pulse): After illness, Dampness remains in the Yangming meridian, stagnating and steaming to produce a chilling heat. Tinnitus, yellow eyes, and mental fatigue are present. Rebellious Qi rushes upward, causing hiccups that have persisted for ten days without stopping, accompanied by night sweats at dawn. These are all manifestations of Damp-Heat. The physician used sedative and warming-transforming methods, which exacerbated the hiccups. One should not fail to realize that clearing and transforming Damp-Heat will calm the Heat, and the hiccups will stop spontaneously.
