All these occur because winter and spring suddenly become warm, heaven and earth fail to store properly, and the human body responds to this, so those suffering from this condition are most numerous. Examining ancient physicians' treatment of warm diseases, they contraindicated diaphoresis (sweating therapy). Misapplication is said to cause evil heat to transmit reversely into the Pericardium, with the greatest fear being coma and delirious speech. The treatment method should use pungent-sweet-cool agents to clear and drain Lung and Stomach heat, because Cold Damage pathogens often affect the Foot meridians, while Warm Pathogen pathogens often affect the Hand meridians. When Earth energy moistens, Lung Qi descends, preventing stagnation; Stomach heat shifts downward, and the patient will feel hungry and thirst will resolve.

One misstep prolongs the illness; a second misstep shortens life. He also stated: snoring breath, difficulty speaking, and severe cases involving convulsions, epilepsy, and spasms. These result from severe robbery of Yin and Yang. Now the patient has fever, which originally does not resemble the presentation of external pathogens on the Taiyang meridian. Misapplying pungent-warm diaphoretics like Qianghuo and Fangfeng constitutes a misstep. Upper orifices failing to receive and lower orifices failing to open are common matters. One must use purgation to discharge watery diarrhea to clear heat. Little do they know that forced sweating robs fluids and injures Yang, while reckless purgation robs liquids and injures Yin. Upon recent pulse diagnosis, both hands felt like twitching tremors; the tongue was dry without fluid; the anterior dental plates were dry; eyes wanted to close, mouth wanted to open; under lamplight, faint reddish spots were hiddenly visible; for several days, occasional hiccups occurred because the Stomach lacked grain qi and was hollow, leading to Liver Yang clashing and usurping upwards. To correct the current situation, first provide rice gruel to moisten the Stomach, preventing Jue Yang from usurping upwards, thereby resolving the burden of coma. The principle of medication is that sweet-warm agents can generate fluids and remove heat; even if macules appear, there is no need for excessive concern. Observing Zhang Zhongjing's discussions, for cases where evil is scanty and deficiency is abundant, with both Yin fluids and Yang fluids dried up, Fumai Tang is indicated. I strictly follow this intent.

In winter, heat lurks inside; in spring, wind-warmth enters the Lung, stirring up old latent heat. Ying and Wei circulation is obstructed, evil stagnates, leading to chills and fever. At forty years old, the form and spirit are emaciated; restlessness occurs upon lying down at night. The Classic states: inability to lie flat, panting and irritability when lying down, indicates rebellious Lung Qi. Children have excess Yang and insufficient Yin, hence symptoms are lighter by day and heavier by night. The disease is named Wind-Warmth. The Hand-Taiyin Lung belongs to the upper jiao, the highest region. Using formulas to clear phlegm, digest food, or bitter-cold laxatives merely attacks the intestines and stomach in vain, failing to hit the core principle. If qi closes and orifices block, slow convulsions may arise from prolonged delay, making regulation extremely difficult. Prolonged neglect leads to daily drying of Lung fluids, loss of clear descent, resulting in Lung distension and panting. It is proposed to use Sun Simiao's Weijing Tang to promote qi and blood circulation to drive out latent evil.

Heart Ying and Lung Wei are retained by warm pathogens. Qi and blood flow, encountering and battling the evil, results in chills and fever resembling malaria. Now the form and spirit are emaciated, lasting a month. Quickly, it may become convulsions; later, it may lead to pediatric consumption. Consuming many bitter drugs risks ruining the stomach appetite. Urgently clear heat from the Qi level to unblock Ying and Wei, leaving no room for warm pathogens, hoping chills and fever will stop. Regarding phlegm cough, one must wait for the stomach appetite to fill and prosper, so Lung Metal protects itself naturally; this is not achieved by strong drug coercion. Use a light formula: Guizhi Baihu Tang.

In childhood, Yang is hyperactive and Yin is deficient. Warm pathogens penetrate deeply and remain unresolved, lurking in Ying and Wei. Day and night qi movement encounters evil, generating heat, same logic as malaria. First discuss clearing Qi level heat, simultaneously unblocking Ying and Wei.
