The patient originally had a constitution of Qi deficiency due to overexertion. During this sudden intense heat, the Heat pathogen enters through the mouth and nose and travels directly along the Middle Jiao. The Classics state: "Qi deficiency with body heat is caused by injury from Summerheat."

The steaming and pressing nature depletes Body Fluids day by day; Yang rises causing insomnia, panting, dry tongue, and dry gums anteriorly; at this moment, one is on the verge of stupor. Using Sweet-Cold herbs to generate fluids and tonify Qi is a fixed principle.

Hope spirit clears, then discuss removing other diseases. Diseases in Upper Jiao mostly belong to Qi; Qi obstruction blocks upper and lower, causing Middle Palace bloating. Heat disease steams and burns, throat/tongue ulcers; in clearing Qi, must assist with detoxification.

Heat presses, vomiting/reversal Qi rushes. But Summer heat must combine with Damp pathogen, whole body pulling pain. Method should be Sour-Bitter to calm Stomach and drain Heat, making Jue Yang slightly calm, then discuss assisting Righteous Qi.

However, eating cold tea/fruits means Cold Water enters Stomach, unable to immediately transform to Heat, originally due to weak Spleen/Stomach Qi: Body Fluids not transported, naturally restlessness/thirst. Re-examine tongue color,未必 (not necessarily) definite Real Heat. Just use Acrid-Aromatic opening Qi category, can wake Yang, can ventilate Turbid, distribute up/down, disease mechanism self-reduces. Pulse large, white tongue, thirsty drinking, hypochondriac pain, desire to vomit; Damp-Heat blocking meridians, chills/heat not ended; propose Mu Fangji Tang (Stephania Tetrandra Decoction).

Wine drinker Damp excess, Middle Yang originally deficient, prone to obstruction/loose stool, not hungry/not full, all because Clear Yang unwilling to rotate; moreover, mental labor injures Yang, also belonging to internal symptom fever, not caused by external contraction.

After taking Lizhong Tang, stomach pain/diarrhea worsen, heart heat/thirst not wanting drink;必有 (must be) Summer-Damp internal knotting, temporarily use Sour-Bitter to drain Heat.

Yang deficiency, obese body, Summer heat consumes Qi, Stomach weak not accepting/not hungry; this Nine Orifices disharmony, all Stomach disease. Method should settle reversal and manage deficiency, slightly assist Bitter descent; because Stomach is Yang Earth, Qi descending is smooth.

Pulse gradually Yin/Turbid rising presumptuously; give Zhenwu Fa (True Warrior Method), reduce Baizhu replace Renshen.
Zhenwu Fa two days, epigastrium has sense of hunger, with Yang gradually knotting obstruction undoubtedly. Yin/Turbid gets drained, immediately should warm/nourish Taiyin, make Spleen Yang drum and transport healthily, hope grain acceptance peaceful, use Zhizhong Fa (Regulate Middle Method).

Entering Summer thin form/eaten less, Qi timid wanting sleep, secularly called Zhu Xia (Stuck Summer). Post-Heaven Spleen/Stomach disharmony, Heat injures Qi.

Yin/Yang both diseased/injured, Heat pathogen deep sinking to Ultimate Yin, Yin fluids exhausted, thus restless/chaotic endlessly, already extremely critical. Thinking former doctors dispersed, directed downward, bitter-cold, acrid-dry, all robbed/consumed Yin/Yang. Zhongjing says: All Yuan Qi injured and disease not reducing, can give Sweet Medicine. Imitate this.
Fu Mai Tang (Restore the Pulse Decoction).

Summer season Heat latent, entering Autumn erupts; this is Zhongjing saying Yin Qi first injured, Yang then alone erupts. Pulse right pulsating/rapid, Stomach juice damaged. Temporarily forbid rich flavors, advance Sweet-Cold nourishing Stomach, internal Heat self-ceases.
