半产除跌仆损伤外,前次或三、四月堕,后期

If the external contraction is severe, it is appropriate to take Shishen Tang (Ten Deities Decoction) or Wuji San (Five Accumulations Powder); for mild cases, Yangwei Tang (Stomach-Nourishing Decoction) should be used.
[Shishen Tang (Ten Deities Decoction)] Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Zisu (Perillae Folium), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix).
For pregnant women suffering from Shanghan (Cold Damage), one only needs to decoct Congbai Tang (Scallion White Decoction) strongly, or add vinegar or a drop of Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice); taking it will result in immediate recovery. One must not lightly administer Biaoyao (Exterior-releasing medicines), because if a pregnant woman takes such medicines, not only will it cause an abortion, but the mother's life may also be at risk. Be extremely cautious.
Plague during pregnancy is treated the same as Shanghan (Cold Damage). As mentioned before, use Congbai Tang (Scallion White Decoction), because Congbai (Scallion White) can resolve pathogenic factors and also calm the fetus.
Delirium during pregnancy should be treated with Er Si Tang (Two-Four Decoction), removing Shudi (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), adding Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus) and Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), decocted in water and mixed with Ginger Juice for administration.
Cold invasion during pregnancy is treated the same as Shanghan (Cold Damage).
Heatstroke during pregnancy is treated the same as in non-pregnant individuals.
If during pregnancy, combing hair or bathing exposes one to wind to seek coolness, causing Wind-Cold pathogens to lodge in the skin, resulting in dizziness, blurred vision, headache, aversion to cold with fever, and chest discomfort, this is a condition specific to pregnancy, involving two lives. Do not arbitrarily administer medicines, as Fengshan (Wind-Cold) differs from Shanghan (Cold Damage). If it is an initial contraction, Shen Su Yin (Ginseng and Perilla Decoction), Xiongshu San (Ligusticum and Atractylodes Powder), or Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) are appropriate.
[Shen Su Yin (Ginseng and Perilla Decoction)] Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Zisu (Perillae Folium), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix).
Cough with hemoptysis during pregnancy should be treated with Shangqing Wan (Upper Clarity Pill), or Er Chen Tang (Two-Aged Decoction) made into pills with Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus), and Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma); if both Qi and Blood are deficient, Bayi Tang (Eight-Ingredient Decoction) with Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) and Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) should be used, or Jisu San (Chicken Mint Powder).
[Shangqing Wan (Upper Clarity Pill)] Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) (1 liang 6 qian), Baiyao Jian (Decoction of Various Medicines) (8 qian), Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Xuanmingfen (Mirabilite), Hezi (Terminalia Chebulae Fructus), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum), Yushi (Natrii Sulfas) (each 1 qian). Made into pills the size of soybeans with honey, dissolve one pill in the mouth.
[Jisu San (Chicken Mint Powder)] Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus), Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini), Maogen (Imperatae Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Puhuang (Typhae Pollen), Jisu (Mint/Bohe).
Panting during pregnancy indicates fetal unrest, possibly due to exposure to wind. Decocting scallions with roots and drinking the soup will naturally lead to recovery. This substance can open orifices, disperse pathogens, and calm the fetus. If panting is caused by trauma, Zisu Yin (Perilla Decoction) with Tongbian (Child's Urine) and Sharen (Amomi Fructus) is appropriate.
Diarrhea during pregnancy contraindicates Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) and Wuge Er Fang (Five Two Formulas) because they contain Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) and Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex). Xianglian Shuling San (Aucklandia, Coptis, Atractylodes, and Poria Powder) is appropriate; this is the sacred medicine for diarrhea during pregnancy.
[Xianglian Shuling San] Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Zhuling (Polypori), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma).
For diarrhea caused by food stagnation during pregnancy, Yangwei Tang (Stomach-Nourishing Decoction) and Wuling San (Five-Poria Powder) with digestive aids like Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata), Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus), and Zhike (Aurantii Fructus) are appropriate.
Cold-type diarrhea during pregnancy is treated with Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) added with Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix).
If diarrhea is caused by consuming raw/cold foods during pregnancy, Yangwei Tang (Stomach-Nourishing Decoction) is appropriate.
Summerheat-type diarrhea during pregnancy is treated with Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) added with Xiangru (Elsholtziae Herba) and Bian Dou (Dolichoris Semen), decocted and taken cold.
If bloody diarrhea occurs during pregnancy, Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) added with Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), and Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) is appropriate; or Zisu Yin (Perilla Decoction) added with Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata), and Sharen (Amomi Fructus); if food intake is low, chest fullness exists, and there is much phlegm, remove Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) and add Fuling (Poria), Zhi Banxia (Prepared Pinelliae Tuber), and Peng'e Zhu (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma).
If intestinal and stomach deficiency-cold leads to undigested food and water, unceasing day-and-night diarrhea resembling bean curd juice, or passage of blood stasis, Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) is appropriate.
Cold pain below the umbilicus, slippery diarrhea with borborygmus, is treated with Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) added with Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen) and Sharen (Amomi Fructus), or Zhizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction).
[Zyizhong Tang] Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma).
Restlessness and thirst due to summerheat, excessive drinking, and watery diarrhea are treated with Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) without Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex).
Cold-dampness causing cold bi syndrome in the waist and legs, with yellow-black diarrhea, is treated with Jin Buhuan Zhengqi San (Golden Unchanging Upright Qi Powder). If red and white stools are mixed, add Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma); if white dysentery, add Wumei (Mume Fructus) and decoct; otherwise, Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) is also acceptable.
[Jin Buhuan Zhengqi San] Huoxiang (Agastaches Herba), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium).
Qi and Blood deficiency sinking leading to diarrhea and dysentery during pregnancy is treated with Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction).
Dysentery during pregnancy must not be treated with Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) formulas; Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) is appropriate. Taking this medicine for a long time can resolve food stagnation on its own; increase Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber), and Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus).
Red dysentery during pregnancy is treated with Zisu Yin (Perilla Decoction) added with Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata), Fuling (Poria), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), and Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma). If there is no fever, add Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix). This formula is excellent for both red and white dysentery, provided there is no abdominal pain.
Dysentery during pregnancy, regardless of color, is primarily treated with Yangwei Tang (Stomach-Nourishing Decoction). Stick to this formula; Weiling Tang (Stomach and Five-Poria Decoction) is also acceptable. Taking Wuge San (Five Powders) for one or two doses is also fine, as dysentery caused by raw/cold foods requires Ginger and Cinnamon to eliminate.
Red and white dysentery during pregnancy is treated with Xianglian Shuling Tang (Aucklandia, Coptis, Atractylodes, and Poria Decoction). If red exceeds white, the Blood level is injured (severe); use more Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) than Xiangmu (Aucklandiae Radix). If white exceeds red, the Qi level is injured (mild); use more Xiangmu (Aucklandiae Radix) than Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma). This formula harmonizes Water and Fire, used according to deficiency and excess.
Passing red and white stool with anal swelling and pain during pregnancy is treated with Xianglian Wan (Aucklandia and Coptis Pill); there is no better alternative.
[Xianglian Wan] Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (8 qian), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (1 liang), Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen) (5 qian), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) (1 liang), Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus) (5 qian), Liupi (Punicae Granati Pericarpium) (4 qian), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma) (each 8 qian), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Zhuling (Polypori), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Laifuzi (Raphani Semen) (each 1 liang), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (1 liang 2 qian), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus) (2 liang 3 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (5 qian), Sukewu (Papaveris Capsicum) (7 qian), Wuyao (Linderae Radix) (8 qian), Hezi (Terminalia Chebulae Fructus) (3 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (2 liang). Made into pills with refined honey.
Dysentery at the time of delivery in pregnancy: Burn Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) to charcoal, preserve nature, powder it, and take with warm water to stop immediately.
Heat-clinging with pure blood in dysentery during pregnancy is treated with Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for Resolving Toxicity). If pus and blood continue to pass with abdominal pain, Huanglian Ejiao Wan (Coptis and Donkey-Hide Gelatin Pill) is appropriate; if pure blood resembles fish brain, use Zhengqi San (Upright Qi Powder) added with Wumei (Mume Fructus) and Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium); if red and white are mixed, use Zhengqi San (Upright Qi Powder) added with Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma); if unable to eat (Jinkou Dysentery), use Baidu San (Resist Toxin Powder) added with Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) and Sharen (Amomi Fructus).
[Huanglian Ejiao Wan] Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini), Jizihuang (Yolk of Chicken Egg), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba).
[Baidu San (Resist Toxin Powder)] Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma).
The Classics state: Dysentery before delivery is not treated after delivery, meaning the diarrhea causes the miscarriage. The pulse must be deep and thin for survival; surging and large indicates death.

Some cases of Mute Fetus require no medicine and resolve spontaneously after birth. This is because meridians connect to the Kidney system, and the tongue root connects to the Pericardium; weakness prevents speech. The Classics state: muteness in the ninth month resolves in the tenth.

Numbness of hands and feet during pregnancy is due to Blood deficiency; nourishing Blood and calming the fetus is superior, using Bayi Tang (Eight-Ingredient Decoction) as the main formula.
Epistaxis (nosebleed) during pregnancy often indicates an unfavorable outcome postpartum. Since the fetus is nourished by Blood, leakage is detrimental. All forms of bleeding are discussed similarly; treat with Zisu Yin (Perilla Decoction) added with Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (charred). For hematemesis and epistaxis, use Bisheng San (Certain Victory Powder).
[Bisheng San] Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shudi (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Xiaoji (Herba Centandae), Puhuang (Typhae Pollen) (fried), Wumei Rou (Mume Fructus Flesh). Ghost Fetus in pregnancy presents with a pulse that is intermittent, varying in size, floating and sunken inconsistently. Although there is a shape, it does not move, resembling holding a urn, and feels ice-cold to touch; this is Evil Qi. Treat with tonifying deficiency and activating Blood medicines. If it is indeed a fetus failing to develop, regulate with Huangqin San (Scutellaria Powder).

Nourish Qi and Blood, secure the fetal origin, using Bayi Tang (Eight-Ingredient Decoction) added with Jiao (Gelatin), Ai (Mugwort), and Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix). Laypeople fear Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) is cold and cooling, but pregnancy requires clearing heat and nourishing Blood so Blood follows the meridians without reckless flow, thereby securing the fetus.
Abdominal pain during pregnancy unresponsive to Antai Yin (Calming the Fetus Decoction) or digestive/Qi-moving medicines, presenting with swelling, distension, and shining skin near the lower abdomen, is called Yun Yong (Pregnancy Abscess). Take 3 qian, decocted in water.
To facilitate easy delivery near term, people often use Zhike San (Aurantii Fructus Powder). While this thins the fetus for easier delivery, it is only suitable for fat/excess fetuses; otherwise, it causes disaster. Shengji San (Life-Saving Powder) is superior as it calms the fetus and augments Qi.
