恶寒发热。全类伤寒。但新起脚膝软弱赤肿为异耳。此湿热之所聚在肌肤流注于脚膝。
祛温汤
治热气留于肌肉之中。宜急治之。少缓其气上行。至心即死。
苍术 黄柏 赤茯苓 牛膝 木瓜 木通 槟榔 甘草 黄连 乌药 防己（各三钱）
量轻重治之。水煎空心服。

加味平胃散

临服入木香磨汁调下。如腹痛。加桃仁。便实。去渣。曲。果。姜。加大黄。
加味治中汤
陈皮 枳实 青皮 浓朴（各一钱） 白术（八分） 甘草（五分） 苍术（一钱五分） 干姜
（五分） 草果 砂仁（各一钱二分）
热甚。去白术。加柴胡。呕吐。加姜汁炒半夏。胸中饱闷。去甘草。白术。加枳实。腹
痛甚者。加芍药。大黄。去干姜。白术。
Chills and fever. The presentation is entirely similar to *Shanghan* (Cold Damage disease). The only difference lies in the recent onset of weakness, redness, and swelling in the feet and knees. This is due to the accumulation of damp-heat (*Shi Re*) in the skin and muscles, which then flows downward into the feet and knees.
Quwen Tang (Remove Heat Decoction)
Treats heat qi lingering within the muscles. It should be treated urgently. If treatment is delayed even slightly, the ascending qi will reach the heart, leading to death.
Ingredients: Cangzhu Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Huangbai Cortex Phellodendri, Chifuling Poria Cocos cum Rubra, Niuxeu Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae, Mugua Fructus Chaenomelis, Mutong Caulis Akebiae, Binglang Semen Arecae, Gancao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis, Huanglian Rhizoma Coptidis, Wuyao Lignum Aquilariae Resinatum, Fangji Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae (each 3 qian).
Adjust dosage according to the severity of the condition. Decoct in water and take on an empty stomach.
Another prescription for external application: Apply to the red and swollen areas. Pulverize Xiaomiao Natrii Sulfas, Dahuang Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Hanshui Shi Gypsum Fibrosum, and Yazao Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis into powder. Mix with egg white (*Jizi Qing*) and apply topically. Very effective.
Another prescription: Pulverize Renzhonghuang Humanis Faecis Purificata. Mix with juice from Banana Plant Stem (*Bajiao Shui*) and apply topically. Extremely wonderful effect.
External symptoms include headache, fever, and chills. The presentation is entirely similar to *Shanghan*. The exception is that there is no body pain; instead, there is fullness and oppression in the chest and abdomen, belching, choking sensations, and vomiting/nausea.
For severe cases, use boiling salt water mixed with 5 fen of powdered Gleditsia sinensis fruit (*Zaojia*) to induce vomiting. Subsequently, administer Jiawei Pingwei San.
If headache is accompanied by body pain, it is termed "Jia Shi Shanghan" (Cold Damage complicated by food stagnation). Use Jiawei Zhizhong Tang. If exterior syndromes predominate, use Huoxiang Zhengqi San. If interior syndromes predominate, use Xiao Chengqi Tang.
Jiawei Pingwei San (Modified Pingwei Powder)
Cangzhu Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Nongpuo Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis, Chenpi Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (each 2 qian), Baizhu Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (1 qian), Gancao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis (8 fen), Ganjiang Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (1 qian), Shanzha Fructus Crataegi, Shenqu Mass Medicamentum Fermentatum, Caoguo Fructus Tsaoko (each 3 qian), Huanglian Rhizoma Coptidis (2 qian), Zhishi Fructus Aurantii Immaturus (1.5 qian).
When taking the decoction, mix with freshly ground Muxiang Radix Aucklandiae juice. If abdominal pain occurs, add Taoren Semen Persicae. If stool is hard and dry, remove the dregs, Shenqu, Caoguo, and Ganjiang, and add Dahuang.
Jiawei Zhizhong Tang (Modified Zhizhong Decoction)
Chenpi Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Zhishi Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, Qingpi Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride, Nongpuo Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis (each 1 qian), Baizhu Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (8 fen), Gancao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis (5 fen), Cangzhu Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (1.5 qian), Ganjiang Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (5 fen), Caoguo Fructus Tsaoko, Sharen Fructus Amomi Rotundus (each 1.2 qian).
If heat is severe, remove Baizhu and add Chaihu Radix Bupleuri. If vomiting occurs, add Banxia Rhizoma Pinelliae prepared with ginger juice. If there is fullness and oppression in the chest, remove Gancao and Baizhu, and add Zhishi. If abdominal pain is severe, add Shaoyao Radix Paeoniae Alba and Dahuang, and remove Ganjiang and Baizhu.
