Wind Syndrome: Various sudden occurrences of limb rigidity, supporting pain or spasms, abdominal urgency, and tendon contraction all belong to Wind. True Stroke (a severe stroke caused by exogenous wind pathogen) manifests as sudden stiffness and falling, locked jaw with inability to speak, and loss of consciousness. If accompanied by enuresis, fixed gaze, open mouth, and scattered hands, with sweat like pearls, it belongs to intractable syndromes. This condition is common in the high-cold regions of the northwest but absent in the southeast. Contraindicated are Qi-breaking, purgative, emetic, bitter-cold, and astringent herbs; specific drugs are recorded later. Suitable are acrid-sweet dispersing agents and potent Qi-tonifying herbs.

Contraindicated are diaphoretic, emetic, and purgative methods. Particularly contraindicated are Qi-breaking herbs, warm-hot herbs, bitter-cold herbs, and all acrid-dry dispersing herbs used for wind-dampness, as well as orifice-opening herbs that dissipate true Qi and blood-invigorating herbs. Do not violate these rules; otherwise, mild cases will become severe, and severe cases will lead to death.

All other contraindicated herbs are recorded later.
